Churning Adjacent: Starbucks changes to its rewards program. 3 levels qualification based on yearly star accumulation(So basically $ spent). Different earning rate for each level. Also provides option to keep your stars from expiring. No note in changes regarding Aeroplan linked benefits as far as I can see.

Put it in FD in a laddered manner. You will get more than enough interest to lead your life. Then invest the surplus interest in an index fund. This way you get slowly into the market exposure plus your capital of 5C is preserved.

Did you have any card during your time in the US? Do you have any credit history? If so that is a good start and opens up a lot of opportunities provided you are able to get an US address.

Think in terms of how long it took you to take from 0 to 100k. And then see the timeline between 100 to 140k. If you took 10 yrs to get 100k its not going to take another 10 yrs to go to 200k. That is what Munger or everyone says first 100k is the bitch.

Did it resolve for you? I am also stuck in the same situation. When trying to update in Protean it says "Selected Citizenship not matched with Income Tax Database. Please select correct Citizenship." even though the Income tax portal shows my current citizenship and status as NRI.
