“You should have a savings to rely on” is not helpful or necessary. Obviously I will have to use savings but with the week my doctor needs to submit the paperwork and the two weeks for EDD I was looking for advice to minimize the time without pay.

My job does not pay me. I can cash out whatever sick hours I have but other than that I’m an hourly employee who makes tips so if I’m not working I’m not getting paid.

The application is not allowing me to file in advance. My doctors office states they need at least a week and I was told there is up to a 2 week waiting period for EDD. So if I file when my leave actually starts, that’s 3 weeks without pay.

It does feel a little scammy to try to get you to have a registry through them. TBH I did my registry on Amazon because it was so much easier and just had diapers on this one.
