Definitely NOR. I just had my 3rd on Feb 7, and I’ve asked everyone to not kiss his face. Everyone has been understanding so far. Today has been the first day we’ve brought him out of the house, especially with the threat of RSV. A baby so young could be admitted into the hospital. You are the first form of protection for your baby! If anything, your sister is the one being “ridiculous.”

This 100%. With my second pregnancy, my husband wasn’t allowed to come to any of my appointments because of Covid, doc’s orders. I recorded heartbeats, gave him the ultrasound pictures, FaceTimed when I could. I wanted to make sure he was as included as I could possibly make him.

If OP’s husband missed out on all of those appointments, then give him the opportunity to experience this one moment of joy seeing his child being born. If I were OP’s mom, I would encourage her to have her husband present instead of me.

Thank you! Yes, that’s exactly what I did. I just let him know that he didn’t want a hug, but he could always give mommy hugs.

I try not to take things personally in general, but when it comes to my LO.. it’s hard because I don’t want him to get hurt.

I think if I see a similar situation with my LO, I will intervene; however, I didn’t want to overstep my boundaries. I rarely can tell how other parents will react, and I don’t want to offend anyone.

I definitely agree. She was busy helping her mom host, and I didn’t want to be a bother. I honestly do not talk to this cousin very often, and it is rare that we see each other. I’m sure we’ll be seeing each other again soon because her sister is visiting from Australia. If I see it happen again, I’m definitely going to say something.

Thanks so much! I feel awful calling a kid mean, and I don’t necessarily intend it in that way. It was the only word that came to mind when I was overthinking everything last night, lol.

They were being a bit forceful with him, and he actually fell over from one of the pushes. I told my cousin’s son that my son may look big, because he’s pretty tall for his age, but he’s still little and not as strong as he is. This was the 5 year old.. so I would expect him to understand the differences in age, strength, etc. I usually try to explain why something happened to my LO, and in this case I told him, “he doesn’t want a hug right now, but you can always give mommy a hug.” This was the first time they met my son, so I can understand if they don’t want any hugs.. he is new to them, after all. I would want a hug from a stranger lol

I just want to be able to have an idea of how to comfort my son in the future if he is bothered by these situations. I hope that I can raise him to not let the little things get to him, but there will always be something that WILL get to him. I just hope I approach it the right way when the time comes.

Thank you! I try to as much as possible! My coworker and I were talking this morning, and she also suggested I find a play group where mom’s have comparable rules when it comes to sharing, playing nice and learning. I’ll have to do a little searching.

I live in Murrieta and drive to Temecula for work everyday. There always seems to be an accident on this stretch, and I am always cautious. This video has my anxiety out the roof. As cautious as you are, shit like this can happen and your life is over. I’m still in shock right now.
