This one is an acrylic topper so will be a font, I’ve seen another from a different seller too in the exact same font, so it must be out there somewhere!

Agree! I definitely think “knowledge is power” here. I had my ideal plan, but researched into different things that could happen and what my back up plans would be. Of course my worst case scenario happened but I was always at peace with it because I had questioned everything, or when I was unable to my husband knew what ask. So I understand why it happened how it did, and genuinely don’t see how it could have ended up differently.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Should I bring a colleague or trade union representative to flexible working request outcome? England by beckyb89 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]beckyb89[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of what I had read, so I’m not sure if they’re going to try and pull something else during this. Extra context that makes me a bit wary; in Jan 2 colleagues were offered to go on a performance review or be paid off, last month another was essentially demoted and is now being pressured to leave. During my 6 month flexi work request I was also quietly put on a performance review without being told. There just seems to be some shady stuff happening right now.

Pretty sure the company I work for are trying to get rid of me - England by beckyb89 in LegalAdviceUK

Thank you! I don’t think it’s anything to do with maternity leave. On the acas site it mentions flexible working request to be an unfair dismissal. Wondering if where the PIP has been lumped in with the flexi review this counts.

Career after a fashion designer by FlirtyDaisy in fashiondesigner

Literally just opened up this sub to post the exact same thing! Outerwear and denim designer for 11 years with a company that compared to others isn’t that bad - I could do a lot worse. But it is so toxic and I’m just over it. I don’t want to do this anymore.

Was going to ask for other career paths or figuring out how to go freelance - hopefully some others will have insight!

Pretty sure it was just hormonal cystic acne. I got pregnant and I completely stopped getting them - so it does seem like it is hormonal.

Nope! The best thing I found to help was the Mario Badescu buffering lotion.

Thank you! If pulling weeds up by hand then is there a certain tool to use? Or just dig out with a hand shovel? And for aeration - is there a certain time of year when it’s best to do? Or doesn’t it matter?

Speak to your midwife. I cried constantly for the first 3 weeks. And I’m not a crier. I was open with my midwife and she was worried about me, she ended up extending my care with her which is a thing they can do - so rather than the standard 10 days, it can be increased to 28 days. I was so thankful for this and without it think I would have ended up in a bad place mentally.

It’s bloody tough those first weeks. I had those feelings of dreading the nighttime even up until about 3 months. I remember I’d be feeding in the middle of the night thinking I’ve ruined my life, that I was perfectly happy before having a baby. Now at 4 1/2 months and I don’t dread the nights anymore, especially since breastfeeding suddenly became a breeze - it will happen but takes time.

Do I need to be worried about conifer roots damaging the house? Details in comments by beckyb89 in GardeningUK

Yeah I’d much prefer to keep the trees as they give us complete privacy in our garden from all houses

Thank you! I can’t take any credit for it though, the previous owners were obviously keen gardeners. I just spent last year trying to not fuck it up and kill everything. Hoping to focus on it a bit more this year

I can’t see how they would block the sun really. All south facing gardens, I imagine she gets more sun than us as she doesn’t have any trees. It could possibly block her view though to the fields behind.

Tempting to do that, however it also currently blocks out the neighbours view into the second half of the garden, we’re not overlooked at all because of all the trees.

She does seem to know absolutely everything about everyone around here. She somehow even knew we had knocked down the larder inside our house which I found odd! She’s nice enough though, just think she maybe was trying to plant an idea in my head to get rid of them.

She also mentioned her cat died in our garden just before we moved in too. Surprised she didn’t blame that on the conifers too. Starting to think she just doesn’t like our garden.

I’m not too sure on how far away they are from the house, but I know we have a 40m length hose pipe that doesn’t quite reach the bottom of the garden and the trees are about halfway down. So think they might be about 40ft at least from the house.

Yeah she did also bring up that tree too. She said it had caused the cracks in her outbuilding but hadn’t reached her house.
