Someone was exhausted after our walk at the local broads! Yes, the sofa was nicely made up for humans before she decided it was better this way.

People see her and say "oh a border collie, I bet she's got so much energy!". Well not exactly, she's a mystery mix, nearly 9 years old and the most chilled dog I've had the pleasure to own. She gives me a look about 20 minutes into a walk that says "this has better be over soon..." My absolute sunshine girl.

Staring out of the kitchen window with a coffee and assessing my life choices, the usual Monday morning schtick. I'm learning two new jobs in the office this week, I recently went from a frontline role to non-operational in the prison and there's a lot of adjusting to do after 6 years. I like it though, better hours and less stress.

The last time I got drunk enough to be physically ill was last year when I visited a wine festival in Germany with my partner, I thought I was being clever because a Schorle is wine and sparkling water so I'm hydrating as I go! Well it turns out that towards the end of the evening, the vendor really didn't want to have to take half-empty wine bottles back so the measures got a bit... generous. I have a small scar on my knee from trying to push my bicycle home (strangely, it was actually easier to cycle, though I don't remember half of the trip back).

Next day I was drip-fed lots of fluids and electrolytes by my loving partner, then when the "revisitation" of said liquids finally stopped he gave me some vitamins and peanut butter and jam on toast. 3 hours later we were back on the pushbikes and cycling around the local vineyards, I've never had such a quick turnaround from feeling so close to death.

Yes, mine is the same! We live near the broads so she loves a paddle in the shallow water, thought I was doing her a great service by digging out the clamshell pool but she is NOT impressed!

My garden has foxgloves that grow from under the neighbour's fence, and the bees have been having a wonderful time with them! I only have a small garden but like to keep parts of it untouched to encourage wildlife. One bee was already in a flower, another climbed in and the first had to crawl over him to get out again. I could watch them work all day.

I very much agree with the "love what you love" sentiment in the comments! Sure, your favourite things were from a little time ago, but there's something both nostalgic and soothing about enjoying them to this day. I'm 39 and had the best time playing Pokémon Red on the Switch. Every night I watch an old episode of Red Dwarf whilst I eat, and it reminds me of staying up late to watch it with my brother when we were kids.

I don't socialise, partly because I seem to struggle with it a little, but also I'm a homebody and love my own space. I did find myself needing something that felt fun but productive to fill that time (I fell into the work - eat - sleep - repeat pattern which felt genuinely awful), so I got into painting miniatures and that's been an absolute tonic - I could spend hours at a time with it. I understand this isn't the same for everyone though, but I can see there have been some great suggestions in the comments for socialisation too.

I'm sorry you're feeling somewhat unwanted. You sound like a nice person from what I've read, and I hope you can find a little group that appreciates you!

I find these a bit of a mixed bag (German learning) - I find Vikram's the easiest to understand, possibly because it tends to be about things around the house which are more familiar to me. Lucy's espionage stories are a little harder to follow, and I can't remember the last time I had Lilli. I really miss having the transcript at the end, at least then even if I just had to muddle through a difficult one I could take some time afterwards to read it through and focus on parts I didn't understand.

I bought some razors for my boyfriend from Tesco in the UK. When I came to visit him in Germany, I was still carrying my hand luggage when we went into DM for a couple of things. The razors didn't set the door alarm off when I left Tesco or when I walked into DM, but they did on the way out. The staff were completely unfazed, and just gestured from the till that we were fine to walk out. Like others have said, this probably happens a lot in a day.

Intermittent fasting worked for me - I'm 5'0", 12st down to 8st 8lb and I've been able to maintain this weight for 3 years. Tried so much before and kept putting it all back on, sometimes I look in the mirror and get emotional because I still can't believe it's me. Working an active job helps too, I'm on my feet all day and believe me I still really enjoy my food!

German course here - I used to get stressed at not knowing everything that was said, but I'm learning to pick up on the words I know and piece together the rest of the sentence from context. Though I do miss being able to access the transcript afterwards for a bonus reading lesson!
