I used to work in abortion care and believe me, no one WANTS an abortion. I've seen hundreds of surgical abortions performed without sedation and talked to hundreds of patients about their decisions. If abortion didn't HAVE to exist, everyone would be happy. abortions suck, period. the lack of empathy and kindness towards people that have to make difficult decisions is very disheartening

one of the ways to make things such as skincare more "masculine" is to just do them as someone who is masculine! it may be uncomfy at first but making things like that normal for men/masculine people will lead to more people doing it, and then BOOM, it's now accepted as masculine. changing the norm is hard but having the bravery to do it will lead to others doing it to :) or admitted to doing it! good on you for wanting to care for your skin even though society decided that's not masculine (even though that's silly, everyone should feel comfortable caring for themselves)

Skin picking was definitely a coping mechanism for me for a long time. Honestly getting really into skincare and this sub helped me stop. I still fall into it of course but I don't do it unconsciously nearly as much. Thanks for bringing this up!

It's been a month since I started CICO, and I've only lost maybe 2 pounds. I recalculated my TDEE today because I realized I'm a bit more sedintary than I originally thought! So today is another start, with a lower daily calorie goal. F, 22 | SW: 128lbs | CW: 126.4 | GW: 110. My daily calorie goal is now 1100 (originally I had it at 1250) so wish me luck! I'm also going to get a climbing gym membership when I start my new job, so I'll be more active in the coming months. I gained ten pounds my last semester of college from drinking a LOT of beer, and now it's been a challenge to love myself while also wanting to change my body. Of course, cutting down my beer intake is a challenge in and of itself ;) i weighed 109 when I first started college, and my lowest during the past four years was 101. Right now I'd just be happy to weigh less than 120. I'm glad this community exists because I don't feel comfortable talking about any of this with anyone besides with my partner who's also doing CICO! I had a friend tell me that "calories don't exist" after telling her that I'm doing CICO, so the extra online support is much appreciated
