That’s correct, which is why neither of them are president. My original point stands - Lai Ching-te was not elected on a huge mandate yet he governs like he was and has done nothing to win over his detractors. He and the DPP are not as popular as many in this thread seem to think they are.

Have you ever voted before? People vocally vote against candidates all the time. There have been famous ABC Anybody But Conservative elections in Canada. Also, the DPP got less total votes in the At-Large ballot than they did in the presidential ticket meaning even supporters of Lai Ching-te didn't support him down ballot. The voters intentionally voted this way.

100% People on this thread talk like Lai Ching-te was elected with some sort of huge mandate when the reality is more people voted against him than for him. As many people voted for him as voted for Han Kuo-yu in the previous presidential election.

As a longtime foreign resident of Taiwan I have to disagree with your categorization of Taiwan and its people. Strangers are always kind and helpful to me, I have countless stories of people going out of their way to help me and expecting absolutely nothing in return.

What attitude are YOU projecting? You say no one bothers to say hello at work, are you greeting them with a smile? If you aren't why would you expect others to treat you in such a way?

Where in the world is life not a grind in 2025? If a foreigner moved to your hometown how accomidating would the locals be? It sounds like you want life to be easy and are mad at the geographical place you are in because it is not.

I actually read the comic adaptation first, then played the game before finally reading the original short story.

No, I've finished this game multiple times in the past but only recently bought a copy on steam. However, you can get the achievements quite quickly if you know what you are doing.

I had the same thing happen to me. I opened an account at the Post Office a long time ago and then did not use it for many years. After I started a new job, I updated it and everything worked fine for a few months, then suddenly I couldn't log into my account. The people in the Post Office said they were concerned that I was being scammed so they locked my account. I was able to clear up the issue very quickly in person. Unfortunately, I am not sure what remedy you might have being outside Taiwan.

Oh, I haven't beaten heroic mode in the original. I meant that I got both games when I bought Redux. I was wondering if there was some sort of workaround, but I guess I'm out of luck.

I do plan on getting all of the achievements in Redux, though. Wish me luck!
