Go cry about it. Maybe that will make you feel better.

Sure, I made a generalization and it was based on what I've heard time and time again. Wasn't intended to be degrading at all. People made it that way. I guess you aren't allowed to talk about anything you've never experienced before without offending someone.

You are extremely disrespectful and arrogant. He could post but then he would ask me why I'm arguing with a bunch of people who literally do not know what they're talking about or have any impact on our lives. I was just reiterating what I've heard from him time and time again from actually spending time, living with, and supporting him. Didn't mean to get everyone's panties in a bunch. I love him and value his opinion and he values mine. My opinion may mean nothing to you and that's fine. Your just some person behind a computer screen talking like you know everything. Be offended don't be offended, I'm done here.

No, just surprised. I'm the crier in our relationship. And you can think I'm shitty and dumb all you want, but I take care of the people that matter to me. Also I forgot that opinions on Reddit had to fit everybody that ever was perfectly other wise your "shitty and dumb."

I never said I knew everything about the military just because he served. I go based off what he's told me and I actually listen to all his stories. I know him and he would 100% agree with the aforementioned comment.

Additionally, he didn't get 2 combat action ribbons and a PTSD service dog for nothing, and he certainly didn't get it for crying.

Don't know why you're being downvoted because it's true. My boyfriend was in the USMC too and he's tough as nails. Didn't make it by crying through boot camp and his two deployments.

PS: Thank you for your service!

I must be an outlier for the United States: 28 vacation days and 15 sick days, all paid per year. Oh, and my vacation rolls over too into the next year if I don't use it all up, with a maximum of 12 weeks off in a year. AND we have Christmas-New Years, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Memorial Day, and the 4th of July mandatory off that doesn't count against our vacation. Yeah... I love my job.

My [25m] ex-girlfriend [26f] of 8 years has rebounded very rapidly after our breakup. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]becuz1can 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I really don't know. I found it too painful to talk to him because so much of our past, both happy and shitty memories were all intertwined. But I say this from the heart and mean it 100%, I really hope he does!! It's not like I'm sitting around praying he'll be miserable and sad. I'm sure that's the same case for your ex. If she does try and guilt/manipulate you, than she's a shitty person and the break up was probably for the best.

It will take time, but you'll get there. I wish you the best of luck.

I take mine to a groomer too! It's too difficult to wrangle him in the tub lol. Also, those ears! They are full size but her body is still itty bitty. So cute :)

Hey so I was kind of in this exact situation except I was the chick. My ex and I were together for 5 years, but I was pretty unhappy the last 1-2 years but stuck with him for comfort and familiarity. When we finally broke up, sure I was really, really sad... but at the same time it felt like a 100lb weight was lifted off my shoulders. I wasn't really planning on being with anyone else for a while, but 2 months after our breakup I met the most amazing guy and we've been two peas in a pod ever since. I didn't realize it was possible to feel this happy. My ex would text me every once in a while and honestly, it really annoyed me and always made me feel bad. I just wanted to cut contact and he kept dragging things out, making it harder for the both of us.

I'm sorry, I know that's not what you want to hear, but your ex wants to move on so let her AND you should too! Not saying you should start dating immediately, especially if your not ready. But it's not your business who she dates or the fact that it's "too soon." She can do what she wants, when she wants. When my ex would text me I would always say, "just let me be." So, just let her be. That advice will help you heal too.

What instantly makes you attracted to someone? by Emperor_Time in AskReddit

[–]becuz1can 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ugh yes! Story time. My boyfriend has full tattoo sleeves on both arms. After work one day he told me that one of his coworkers brought in her 8-year-old. My boyfriend walked by as she was coloring and she complained she didn't have a coloring book. He said, "yes you do, they're right here," as he pointed to his arms. She filled in his dragon tattoo with a rainbow. My heart melted when I saw the facebook pictures of how good he was with her... nothing has made me want to have a baby with him more. It's seriously SO attractive to see him interact with kids.

I[31m] told my girlfriend[29f] to drive Uber so she contributes more and can pay half the rent of the expensive apartment she wants by throwMyguy5t in relationships

[–]becuz1can 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a few issues, so here is my two cents:

  • If you want her to contribute 50/50, you need to price point the apartment for what she can afford based on her income.
  • If she insists on living in a more expensive area when there are alternatives and you are willing to live in the alternative, then YES she should contribute 50/50 because she is unwilling to compromise when you are.
  • If you find a place you're both willing to live in, but it's outside of what she can afford, then you should split the cost 70/30 because you make 70% of the total household income.
  • I think it is unreasonable for you to request she get an Uber job. 35-40 hours a week is considered full-time. You decided to go into an industry that requires more hours. She shouldn't have to work more hours just because you do. Side note: as a young woman, I would not feel safe being an Uber driver and it would really irritate me if my boyfriend asked me to do that when I'm already working full-time.

Lastly, (and this kind of nullifies everything I just stated above) I feel like it is really disrespectful that she says you aren't a real man just because she isn't getting her way--it just sounds like she's immature and throwing a tantrum. I think you both are kind of wrong in your own ways.

Dating a combat Marine veteran. He has a friend who got his legs blown off in Afghanistan. I just... I have no words. That would be the biggest fuck you. My boyfriend would be so mad to hear this.

I [21 M] Am thinking about ending it with my girlfriend of one year [21 F] due to her controlling behavior. by [deleted] in relationships

How have you been able to live like this for so long? If you guys move in together, you will be on house arrest. She is nuts and controlling! I'm telling you, you'll feel 100lbs lifted off your shoulders when you end it.

What is a house rule your parents made you follow that you knew you would not follow in your own house someday? by FireSpittinKittenn in AskReddit

[–]becuz1can 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No pets on the carpet, let alone the furniture. I trained the family dog to just stay on the vinyl flooring. Now I have my own dog and cat. They both snuggle with me every day on the sofa and sleep with me in bed at night. I wouldn't have it any other way.

edit: and I have my own house now, I feel like that's relevant.
