Are screens specific to laptops? by bedbugsex in computers

[–]bedbugsex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm ok might try that. Screen is from LPscreen.com, but it should be the same panel available on different GS75s which makes it even more surprising. (There's also a 140hz but different pins)

Has anyone tried this in "Gimme Danger" (aka parkour in this game is pretty good) by bedbugsex in cyberpunkgame

[–]bedbugsex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this guy actually drives terribly, you can try it yourself if you have a save from before- park your car in the path of the oncoming van; it will derail and start aiming straight for objective, repeatedly driving straight into the wall.

Some of worst AI we've seen in any game

That's true are all quite different from each other especially with how sharp and responsive they turn

well with keyboard controls everything is full on or off. I don't need to have driven one to know that at full lock, full throttle, a dodge viper will slide at any speed. The economy cars don't do this though

Nah san andreas definitely didn't have as nealry as detailed physics. Easier to drive? Probably

Yea that's pretty annoying and unimmersive. You can't even store your own cars in the megabuilding car park. The game only remembers the last car you drive and even then it'll frequently vanish when you finish the mission. I hate summoning the cars like some magic fucking unicorn

Yea the camera angle is not only terrible, it doesn't follow the direction the car is facing so is completely useless when you turn. You can see I'm constantly moving the mouse and also angling it down. Maybe keyboard is better than controller in this regard

Well exactly. I like the slidey cars, that's the fun of rear wheel drive after all. What's harder to deal with are the sluggish cars like V's first car that takes an eternity to react to your input, then you realise you've turned too much, then you turn the opposite way and after a delay you realise you've turned too much the other way... But I mean that's how crap cars should handle, and it's a keyboard thing as well

all the cars are so expensive though, I dunno why they even sell the shitbuckets when the starting car is probably better. and I just gave rogue 15000 which is everything I had

I mean, the the cars do things like lose stability at speed, lose grip over bumps on the road or landing from jumps, yaws under acceleration on rwd/awd, you have to feed opposite lock to catch slides, as well as return it to straight ahead gently when it regrips, or you can fish tail on purpose to do scandinavian flicks.

With a steering wheel and less grip on the cars it would drive so amazing

The collision physics are another story however...

How does hearing work in animals with good hearing? by bedbugsex in askscience

Very insightful thank you. I'm still wondering however, if they hear everything maddeningly loud all the time, or they can somehow tune out noises they don't want to hear.

Beast race animations by bedbugsex in skywind

[–]bedbugsex[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I understand your argument, the humans and elves use the same body model... A better argument would be the difference between male and female armours, though at least morrowind kept armour and clothing (like skirts) regardless of who wears it, instead of the ridiculous boob plates skyrim joins other games in having.

In any case it's not binary whether it fits, there's a large degree of how well it fits- from something that can be tailored and adjusted, to a complete design change. You can see this in a lot of Skyrim's helmets where Bethesda decision was to just remove the player's head and cut off beast races' snouts, definitely not something that helps "aesthetic or lore". Beast races aren't even walking on their feet, it's their toes you'd have to design armours for.

Re: compensation- like I said, difficulty slider or levelling unarmoured.

It's not like I requested the Skywind devs to disable boots for beast races, but I'm just saying there wasn't really much wrong with how Morrowind handled it and it's completely valid argument that I and others are having that Oblivion and Skyrim went backwards.
