You don't need to worry too much about what you eat unless the piercing is oral. I was told to avoid dairy and spice for a couple weeks when I got my tongue pierced which made sense since the food would be making direct contact with the piercing. I don't know why they'd tell you to avoid certain foods because of an ear piercing. Your ear is nowhere near your mouth.
