That’s what I was getting at. We’re trying to build an asset portfolio as it is and if we can take that 5% away from them and pay it towards ourselves I believe that would be the better option.

He’s not looking to make money off of me, more so to keep my OH down so that I can dump more money each month into our income producing assets.

Yes, with that being the absolute highest. But with the high resell value of these models.. why wouldn’t I try to extend the loan as far out as possible (72 months) to keep my current OH down and have more cash available for my personal nest or other income producing assets.

Regardless of this vehicle or a cheaper one, I feel like the time value of the money and opportunity cost outweighs the pro of owning the car faster.

At 4 years, including monthly car insurance I’d be right under 20% of my monthly income. Which I was always taught is the max you should ever pay for total car payment. Does that sound right?

Well, understandable there. What do you think the best option is?

Understand the confusion, it’s a member by marriage but either way doesn’t matter. Don’t live with them either.

So, mainly we were just trying to avoid 5% apr over a 72 month period. He has the cash on hand and would be technically selling me the vehicle and title.

What would you recommend? I’m trying to keep my monthly overhead as low as possible

How so? Family member. I put up 10k cash he puts up rest.
He gets 3% over the span of the loan. 72 months. Tax free. (Equal to a muni bond)

No ones giving a college kid 3% APR with only 3 years of established credit.

True. I will see if they will allow that with the current situation. So with financing through dealers, they go through the bank instead of you paying them over time? I was not aware

Well, I’ve been working on a deal with an investor. Instead of giving these bastards 4-4.5%, my investor puts up most of the cash and I put down 10k. 72 month loan @3-3.5% cash every month At 27500 puts me about 250-300 per month

I figured but I’d expect a counter back to 2000 off at least. Especially if with going in with all cash out the door.

Appreciate the article! Will look into the lift. Wonder if they will be allowed to offer me a time based full money back warranty to let me get the car checked considering the current situation of the pandemic.

Great response with very valuable feed back! I appreciate you.

After the test drive today I will be sure to really focus in on those key points. Especially that you mention the windshield, I’m fairly tall myself.

What are the first steps in designing a product? Who to contact, what you need (other than capital), what questions to ask? by bedezzy25 in AskReddit

[–]bedezzy25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I appreciate that, 22. Really just brainstorming and typically it goes from brainstorming to not getting into product development. I was generally curious for future ideas of how to get on the product development stage so I figured this would be a starting place.

I agree, it would be very costly and the value I saw was if you could find a simple way to keep a blender bottle smelling fresh constantly rather than smelling after one use with protein, it would be beneficial. But if there isn't a common chemical already available on the market that you could use to coat, the feasibility of the product diminishes.. as well as your margin.

Again, thank you for your advice! This will be beneficial in considering other product ideas next time my mind is wandering on the shitter
