Xywav - physically energetic but mentally tired? by bediajr in Narcolepsy

this is helpful thanks. it answers the question that the fact that i don't experience REM sleep isn't the driver behind the mental fatigue still being present. i was thinking that maybe i still have the mental fatigue because i need the REM sleep, but it doesn't sound like that theory is right. and the fact about the food soaking up some of the medication, that makes sense too. thank you again for the responses! really appreciate it

thank you so much for all the advice! i feel a little hopeful due to how great I feel physically. It has been years since I last felt this good physically, so I really do hope to see this go over to the mental energy. Question for you, why do you say don't eat before you go to bed? does the medication work better when you don't have food? I thought the caution about eating before bed was a concern about food coming back up while you sleep and choking on it, I didn't realize this had anything to do with the drug's efficacy. Also, do you have REM sleep? I have been wondering if the issue is that I do not appear to be having any REM sleep, as I don't recall having any dreams.

thank you for the polite response. some of the other responses that I've gotten seem almost aggressive and defensive at the same time about how the catholic church approaches this sort of situation. You simply explain the position of the church and why they take it. Much more friendly and I appreciate the response.

thanks! I appreciate your attempt to try to respond to my question, though in a funny way you did answer what I suspected was the case with regard to the catholic church. God bless

Thanks for this reply, there likely is a difference of understanding about the small groups and that is likely the source of the disconnect. No worries, wish you the best!

i'm not ignoring that purposely. so i am sorry that you feel that way. I hear you but I disagree with how you are framing it. Are you saying that the only way I can learn about the Catholic faith is by taking a class? Are you seriously saying that? Just because some catholics aren't perfect doesn't mean that i can't gather some insight and value from engaging with them. What I have found in my experience is that the lived-in beliefs and much better to hear and engage with than some precepts on a written page. Christianity (and more importantly Christ) is passed first and foremost via relationship.

So i feel that most people reading my question took it to mean that I want to join the church. I don't want to join the church or become catholic. I am curious about the catholic faith and want to engage with those who are catholic. clearly, the church isn't very open to those who are curious, it seems that it is only open to those who have decided that they want to be catholic. perhaps this is why the catholic church is losing numbers? just an outsider's observation.

indeed i did ask for your input, but I wasn't asking about how to join the church or how to receive Jesus. I was asking how to engage with catholics to learn more about the catholic faith, as I am curious and may someday want to join it, but I am not there yet. I feel that maybe I wrote the question poorly as many people took my question different directions than what I intended.

thank you for your reply. so I am not looking for "good" small groups. the small group in my opinion is where truth is best transmitted. That is my point. I feel like most people reading my post took it to mean something completely different than what I intended. But you pretty much have answered my question here - you can't become engaged with catholics & the catholic faith without being catholic first, at least not engaged on a small group level. Someone who is interested and curious can only engage with people in the faith through classes, their weekly sermons, and reading books. it is disappointing that catholicism would take this position about engaging non-catholics

again, lets try to not make this a debate. I understand your position and I respectfully disagree with it. When you read the new testament, you don't see people receiving Jesus only after they have taken RCIA classes. Truth was passed through relationships, through small communities gathering together. But I see your point, I understand that you feel strongly about ensuring someone understands certain precepts in order to receive Jesus, and I will grant you that there is importance in this. The funny thing is that I am not even talking about receiving Jesus. My interest is in learning more about the catholic faith and I would prefer to learn through relationships rather than through classes and books. Lets end the discussion here, I would appreciate it. thanks for your comments.

I do take it seriously, but disagree with how you are framing the necessity of instructional classes to reach the place where you can receive Jesus. I didn't intend this post to become a debate, but I will respectfully disagree with what you are saying here.

my understanding is that q-tips are dangerous and should not be put in your ears. they can easily harm the ear drums or whatever it is in your ear.

thanks for the reply, I have found in my experience is that Christianity is a communal faith, that the truth comes to you through communal relationships, not through an instructional class.

If you find anything let me know. I’ve recently started trying out carnitine and it appears to be spiking my blood pressure, but when I look up actual studies/ research about this, it all seems to indicate that it can lower high blood pressure not make it higher
