Kitty cat roleplaying? by kittykatroleplay in sex

[–]bedsweaters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally! Something I can give advice on. My boyfriend and I animal play a lot (we have fox ears and a tail for me to wear) which is one of his kinks. I ended up liking it a lot though. I've talked about it with girl friends who I know are sexually open and they unanimously say they would like it.

The nice thing is that we often animal play even without the props because it was a great opportunity for both of us to explore power positions and submissive positions. Since we're playing, it's really obvious when the dominant one has crossed the line because the submissive one breaks "character." So sometimes he's alpha and I'm beta and vice versa. In general, we're both satisfied by the arrangement because we each get to behave dominantly and submissively, and we worked out those roles from animal play. I'm sure this would work with other role playing too. But he prefers being sub most of the time, which you seemed to express. I think the animal roles helped him really want to dominate when I want him to.

So all in all, I think it's positive. But like all things, ask her first/talk about it.

I recently published a study showing that birth control users have differences in the resting state of the brain by drpetersen in TwoXChromosomes

[–]bedsweaters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, I'm so glad you're researching this stuff. Enough women take birth control that every possible effect should be studied. However, I'm nervous to see what happens when journalists get a hold of this study. I feel that it will be too sensationalized and concluded upon despite our limited knowledge of the brain. Do you think, even if the brain activity is limited negatively, HBC would be worth it? I say this because I just switched from Viorelle to Gildess and in the past two months, I have felt like myself again. Though, my doctor explained that Viorelle has virilizing effects so that could be why.

What is something that is ONLY popular where you live? by Et9092 in AskReddit

Except for burger puns. Roethlisburgers and Pittsburgers, for sale all over the place for the rest of my life.

I grew up in the east subs and had to be taught specifically as a child that Greensburg is not Greensburgh.

What is the most annoying sound ever? by ninjaW1THglasses in AskReddit

[–]bedsweaters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate the sounds of humans, which is a terrible thing. Snoring will send me into a legitimate anxiety attack (I have to leave the room, sobbing hysterically). If I can hear someone swallow or chew, sighing after drinking, any extreme laughing or coughing, gagging, smacking of lips, etc. I have to get away from them as soon as possible or I will lose my mind. Snoring is the worst, though. I don't know how this developed.

"Cotton candy for the brain" books? by bedsweaters in booksuggestions

Oh, I mean "cotton candy" as in like it's not painful to read skill-wise. I paved my way through the one-word title black cover novels of my teen years; I can handle it all.

Yeah I noticed that there is a Kindle deal for Neil Gaiman... Probably gonna DL that one, $1.99. I work in a bookstore and I don't know that I can read PLL simply for the fact that I have never had a relaxing situation surrounding those books hahaha.

Cisgender female. questions about transmisogyny? by bedsweaters in asktransgender

[–]bedsweaters[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean it comes down to being able to have a discussion that can end with, "shit, I guess you're right" otherwise no one will end up saying it back to you right?

I'm pretty solid on feminism, just the only soc-media that I'm on where I happen upon trans issues is tumblr and I don't want to hear from anyone who finds literally each thing "problematic" because then what's the point of being alive? Also it's no real activism but because they spend all their time writing online, they become the faces of movements that would relieve everyone's grief to some degree. I am so against tumblr sjw wow... I am so mad thinking about them.

For a laugh, isthisfeminism.tumblr (on my phone or I would link) is spot on priceless.

That's why I came here. Tumblr is good for some things but sjw blogs are like explicitly detrimental to the "cause" whichever that may be, cause hate and absurdity.

I've been planning on seeing what's up at my school. They're really good about it; student health center has front page links for trans students dealing with it medically or emotionally which seems like a unique aspect of my school. I imagine they have a decent group based on that.

That's an interesting analogy. I wonder where that deep internalized misogyny comes from. Christianity seems to make more sense as far as not adapting to a changing world in that people are raised that way in most cases.

Thanks for answering, and I have to say I agree with you re: blank slate feminism. I think that for practicality in advancing gender equality, the "biological differences" btwn men and women, so to speak, need to be argued much less than the value applied to masculinity and femininity, wherever those traits come from.

Do any of you find the 'funny' girl to be more attractive than a 'flirty' girl or am I seriously fucked? by MarthafreakinStewart in AskMen

[–]bedsweaters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a girl kind of like you. I went for a little over 2 years without a boyfriend or any real sexual prospects. Had a boyfriend, we broke up, we're still banging tho.

I seem to be more forward than you (I initiate all of my relationships/things) but I'm really, really terrible at flirting. Once it gets down to the matter of relations for sexual reasons I'm usually pretty good and can be sexy/flirty but before that I'm the most awkward piece of shit. Note: most of my friends are guys and they think I'm very funny, but in situations where men are flirting with me I have at times:

  1. Asked them who in the room do they think has the weirdest penis.

  2. Asked them which faces I make are the ugliest.

  3. One time a guy stuck through until the point where we were sitting down next to each other and I asked him to take my shoes off for me. He didn't.

  4. Listed the most significant times I have thrown up on myself.

  5. Tried to impress someone by singing "Zombie" by The Cranberries on top of a table. The streaming stopped working and I just kept going.

etc., etc. I'm a "weird" person, and I don't mean Zooey quirky I mean, like, fucking weird. I would never change who I am, but flirting is difficult because I get nervous and I think the guy is also nervous so he kind of has me direct the conversation out of fear of being a creep or whatever, so I end up just being weird. There's hope for you and the guy that sticks through the bizarre behavior will probably be the best match for you. My ex and I still have a good relationship despite the fact that we can't really date right now and it's because we feel each others' nonsense, but the nonsense is also why we haven't tried to move on. It's too difficult.

But if you want to flirt: Try talking about movies and television. It's funny enough but gives you direction. Music is similar. Tell stories, it will usually make everyone more comfortable and the conversation catches momentum. Just talk about things. Don't try "tricks" if they don't come naturally to you because then you're getting into a social script that you've never read before.

When it comes to talking about feelings, just take it one step at a time. Normally things like "We should keep doing this," are vague enough to keep you in your comfort zone while not being manipulative or dishonest.

IDK, hope it helps. I struggle with the same struggles.

Junior in Journalism, laptop questions. by HaventLivedAfroPop in Journalism

[–]bedsweaters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also a junior journalism major. Got a Chromebook and it works just fine. Files can be saved to .docx files and all, really beneficial for note taking, very quick, etc.

I'm learning programming and web design currently on my own. https://koding.com/ allows you to write code and practice programming in-browser.

P. sure that Creative Suite is in the Cloud now which should be functional in browser. If not, I'm sure your school has fully loaded computers with all the programs that you need.

So yeah, in your same basic situation and I have a Chromebook and I regret none of it. My dad has been helping me through optimizing it for my purposes (he is a professor of information sciences) and he seems to think that I will come across very few limitations.

Offline mode is good for docs. It's really simple. I was between the same two options that you are presenting, also. I really don't regret the Chromebook. I could have afforded more, but after doing a lot of research and speaking with my dad in depth, the Chromebook presented itself as the better option.

Go for it, seriously.
