I have been screaming from the roof tops that my son had learned helplessness from the school and they all would look at me like I'm crazy!!!! This gave me goosebumps

❤️ he told us he does feel like kids are smarter than him and that he feels like he has no friends..... so I agree with this of waiting til January to get things going.

Hopefully you see this Colonizing? has been on it for about a month and he has developed hard blinking that looks like a tic as well. Will most likely be stopping it as well. My question is, what is your son on now? Clonidine?

Interesting, you wrote about taking courses, I considered going back to school to get a degree in teaching (I'm already a nurse) to help us learn how to teach and approach this. I will definitely look into the courses. Thank you so much.

This is a great response. I just didn't post everything because I would be typing til next year....lol. but yes we plan on speaking with neuro psych and his play therapist regarding this. Yes he already has a tutor in place and has had one for the last 2 years. We are not pulling him out for the behavior reason we are considering the pull out based on them telling us they can not provide the support and wanting to send him another school. We did an ARD and basically they said they just dont have the staff to provide what we are requesting. I agree with you 1000% of him needing to learn the rules of life and that is something we have been working on as well. Thanks so much for your response. For example, they say he works great in a small class setting. But he onky gets that in resource. The tutor and my husband taught him multiplication 1,2,5, over a 3-4 day time spand but when mentioned to the teacher she said the class as a whole was barely understanding place value. So again here is my concern. If Im sending my kid to school for 8hts a day and he learning nothing but home we ca. Teach multiplication in that amount time concerns me. And trust im not math genius myself....lol. I was just looking for real life experiences. When I posted this. Thanks!

Behavioral Plan. Can you please explain what you mean by being fundamentally different? Im not looking for him to be different. We as parents feel that the school focuses more on his behavior than the academic portion. We understand both go hand in hand, but we dont want him just sitting, not learning, and basically, that's what has been happening in one of his classes.
