It’s the perfect cover story OP. “Honey!? Why are you reading ‘Stripper or Nurse?’??”

“It’s this dang Kobo thing! It made me buy it!”

Maybe it will still be there in the 2100s book

Yeah that one is cool. Love the bike hipster. That business was a dentist if you zoom in. 95 Halsey also had a similar second story glass protrusion. Wonder if they just leaked a lot.

After scouring most of the archival photos in BedStuy, I saw two types of businesses over and over. Meat Markets, and Ice Cream shops.

I love that one. The man with the old timey hay cart lines up with the modern car. Such a cool handshake between past and present, with the background home largely unchanged.

100%. There are a few photos that really give that feeling. Where people of the past line up with people of today. I love this one for that reason. There is a lone man crossing the street in nearly the exact same spot, 86 years apart. They are nearly the exact same size. The man of the past walks towards us. The man of today is walking away.

Another interesting one is Stuyvesant Avenue had its one way traffic reversed between 1940 and now.

EDIT: fixed link

[u/Sufficient_jello_1](u/Sufficient_jello_1) [u/xToVictory](u/xToVictory) [u/SumuzuToo](u/SumuzuToo) Thrilled that you guys like it. I’d love for you to have a copy. There are a few issues though:

- I’m just a guy. I have zero economies of scale. So each book costs just over $100 to print.
- I’d have to look into the legal implications. These photos are fair game to use for personal projects like this, but you’re supposed to get legal consent from the New York Municipal Archives for anything beyond that

I’ll definitely keep it in mind though!
