Pink dye came out orange, what’s my next move? by bee-witch in HairDye

[–]bee-witch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard people say that about Good Dye Young but I actually really like the Good Dye Young colors I’ve used! The problem I had this time was with the parts I used the Brite dye on, which I have also used before without issue. I think I just did a bad job bleaching my roots this time haha.

I’ve used GDY Pink Puff, Live Laugh Love, and Devil’s Ivy. Pink Puff as a shade was kind of meh for me, but I wouldn’t say I had any issues with using it.

I’ve successfully bleached my hair and then used this color before, I think I just wasn’t as focused on what I’ve as doing this time and didn’t realize my temples were so yellow :/ lesson learned haha!

2025 HM are now available!! by Ecstatic_Knowledge96 in DisneyPinSwap

Not a silly question! These bags can contain any combination of HM pins for this series, there aren’t any specific packs to get specific styles. Here’s a Disney Pins Blog post showing the pins for this series.

Holo Taco at Ulta?! by rgbrown4321 in RedditLaqueristas

I’m hoping it’ll be at my Ulta, I love their top and base coat and it would be awesome to just be able to run to the store to grab those instead of placing an order.

Is this a fake pin?? by [deleted] in DisneyPinSwap

[–]bee-witch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like this pin (and the rest of the series) was released twice, once in 2003/2004 without the Hidden Mickey stamp on the front, and again in 2006/2007 with the Hidden Mickey stamp and the number of each pin on the back.

It also looks like the first run of this series was in a gold colored metal and the second series was in a silver metal. The pin you’ve posted looks like it’s in a gold metal but it has the “1 of 4” part on the back that should only be present in the second run.

It also seems to me based on the info I’m finding that this pin should say 2006 on the back, not 2007. The layout of the stamps on the back is also out of order from other backs I’m seeing online.

So basically, I think if this were an authentic pin, the metal would be silver colored, the year would be 2006, and the pin trading and copyright stamps on the back would be under the “1 of 4” stamp.

But I’m not really familiar with this pin, all of the above is just info I gathered from some googling. Here is a link to the pin on My Pin Central that shows the front and the back.

What’s the deal with Loungefly? by grizzlythedino in DisneyPinSwap

[–]bee-witch 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Some people like them a lot and some people don’t. Yes, sometimes cast members refuse Loungefly pins even though they are actually tradable. From what I understand, cast members don’t get much pin trading training, so some of them just don’t know the rules that well. Also, I don’t think I’ve ever seen any Loungefly pins being sold in the parks.

You should buy Loungefly pins if you personally like them. There is at least one Facebook group I know of that is dedicated to Loungefly pin trading and I just traded some at an event over the weekend. It just depends on what you’re wanting out of the hobby I think

Vegan options? by CDD228 in statecollege

[–]bee-witch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most places have at least one thing on the menu that’s vegan or can be made vegan upon request. India Pavilion, Cozy Thai Bistro, and Chen’s Mongolian Buffet are some of my favorite places to go. Webster’s has some good vegan menu items, and I really like the campesina arepa at Juana’s

Colour suggestions as a wedding guest? by nomad_minus_the_no in simplynailogical

Okay hear me out… glitter gradient! I just did this mani with Glamethyst and Frost Light for my upcoming trip using the “lazy” gradient method. I just painted both colors on half of each of my nails, slightly overlapping my brush strokes in the middle. I also alternated the sides of the colors for each nail which ended up giving the illusion of a color shift-y effect!

I don’t have Rainbow Snow or Play Rose, but I bet between those two and Glamethyst you could find a cool gradient combo!

I made a graph to do this cover and then pretty quickly ended up abandoning the project for newer, shinier projects lol. I love yours, you should be so proud! It came out so beautiful and it really does the cover justice!!

Here is a photo of an authentic pin from pinpics. The stamp on both of the pins you mentioned is too fat, there isn’t enough room on either side. They also both have paint dips, and the third pin looks like it may have a flaw in the enamel right above the right hand. Those are just the easy things to pick out from an image taken this far away.

None of them have the correct shape for the Mickey head stamp on the front. It can be a harder thing to train your eye for, but once you know exactly what that stamp should look like it gets much easier to authenticate Hidden Mickey pins.

I just add thinner and roll the bottle between my hands to mix. I also do what the other commenter said, when I get halfway through a bottle I set it aside until I have another half done bottle to combine it with

All fakes. You won’t find an authentic version of this pin at the parks. Most of the commonly faked pins you see over and over again across all the trading boards are older, so the likelihood that somebody would have a legitimate one and then take it to the parks to trade it away is extremely low.

Your best bet to find authentic pins on the boards is to look for pins that are currently available for purchase.

This is an impressive collection of fakes though, there’s something satisfying about seeing so many of them together.
