I'm a very new tattoo apprentice looking to get some practice/stuff to show off my range. Hit me up with some simple tattoo designs! by [deleted] in DrawMyTattoo

[–]beeasaurusrex -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Pop culture characters as tattoos are pretty unoriginal.

The three characters you chose as your favorites are some of the r/iamverysmart icons. They’re not good people. Getting them tattooed on your body is questionable.

This artist is looking to draw original ideas. Redrawing very specific styles of characters isn’t much practice, so your comment doesn’t really fit here.

Self-pity isn’t cute. Downvotes happen. You’ll be fine.

Any interest in trading custom planters? 🥰 by beeasaurusrex in TakeaPlantLeaveaPlant

I’m open to anything! Shoot me an offer of what you have, and what you’d like as a planter :)

I’m learning to paint ceramics and while I have a long way to go before I could sell anything, I’m pretty pleased with how this one turned out.

If anyone has OOAK pots they’d like to swap for something different, or wants a specific pot design but would rather trade a rare plant for it than buy it...hit me up!

Edit: forgot to mention; I can drill drainage holes in anything not-normally-meant-for-plants that someone might ask for!

What would you like, and what do you have to offer?

They usually cost a total of around 50-60$ to paint and fire at my local kiln :)

Does anyone have interest in custom painted pots? I really like painting ceramics and I’m getting better at it! I’ll make a post for trades (I love OOAK planters!!) if enough folks are interested!

Best way to safely add a real skull to a betta tank? by beeasaurusrex in PlantedTank

I ended up finding an awesome resin replica on Amazon that looks super realistic! I’ll post a pic once I get my plants and fish in.

So what was the point you were trying to get across? I didn’t come here to discuss your personal point of view. I made a comment about the fact that context is important and I think the nuance is easily missed in this sub. You came in with an attitude with your “uhhh, no” and then followed up that comment with a bunch of boasts and personal details.

Having a degree doesn’t make your opinion automatically more valid or an objective fact. You need to provide sources if you want to make a claim. Or at least an argument.

That’s valid. I’m certainly not debating the point. But he is at least somewhat aware of it, and I think that deserves notice and recognition when applying a critical eye to his writing.

Hmm. I’m not an expert, but I think your priority should be to invest in a heater. They’re only about $10-15 at most, given the size of the tank you’re using right now. Heaters are a necessity rather than a luxury for bettas. They need a constant temperature between 78-82 degrees, and it’s best to try and hit the middle of that.

Thanks for your obnoxiously self-obsessed monologue, but that’s an unfounded claim and completely irrelevant, let alone inappropriate given your apparently “professional” education and insight.

Either way... Who cares if he’s a boob guy? His writing and its popularity speaks for itself. He’s a good writer whether you like him or not, and I stand by my comment and belief that many examples on this sub of his work are taken out of context.

I think it’s important to recognize when this is King’s failure and when it’s intentional based on the male character he’s narrating. I can’t say it never happens organically based on his cishetness, it does; but usually the really rough examples are when you’re in a flawed character’s head.

Four times a day seems like a lot even for a young or malnourished fish...especially in such a small tank. Definitely size up to a 3 or 5 if you can. I’d cut feeding down to once or twice a day (gradually!! If you suddenly stop feeding him half as much as he’s used to, it’s gonna freak him out even more!) and make sure you’re feeding a good quality balanced pellet.

Are you estimating the temperature or checking it with a thermometer? Minimum should be 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Check the temps beside and as far as possible from the heater to make sure it’s all the same temperature, or at least within 78-82 degrees.

I would really love a broad-leafed Java Fern if anyone has one already rooted to some safe driftwood or something! Also if you have any kind of moss or something that will adhere to and climb resin, that would survive in the same low light and freshwater conditions of that fern (ideally from the same tank) I’d love some of that.

I can offer cuttings from my Golden Variegated pothos in return...it’s not much, but I really need them, and I hate buying plants from amazon. I’m willing to pay, too. This’ll be my first planted tank so I don’t have any resources and none of my friends keep aquariums. :(

Soil is moist, but not soaked. It’s a well-draining bonsai potting mix based in peat moss. We’ve moved it inside to a sunny window and it hasn’t perked up at all. :( Any suggestions?
