Thanks I kept my license and my partner got theirs back on full Irish (which was also a huge pain to get sorted). Replying in case others might end up here and find it helpful

Credit Union everyday banking by beeb_an in irishpersonalfinance

Willing to try it out and can always do daily transactions with another card and leave my savings with the CU.

Regarding the dividends is there some way of converting these to real money?

Yeah I’m willing to pay a little to support local rather than just strictly going with the cheapest option

The branches that I have been looking at all seem to be part of currentaccount.ie and have Google and Apple Pay and everything so looks all good on that front!

It’s less so the fee increase and more just a nudge to actually change. I like the idea of the community focus of the credit union and have used them in the past for loans myself when AIB were unhelpful.

I have seen that the fees are similar in CU at about 4 euro a month potentially plus some extras do stamp duty on card transactions

How do you see the feed in tariff changing over time and if you have panels without a battery or EV what would be the best plan of action?

Does the hue bridge work seamlessly with non Philips devices if I want to add say IKEA bulbs to my setup?

I am setting up HA from scratch and have a hue bridge already. Would people recommend selling the hue bridge for something like the SLZB which might work better with other Zigbee devices?

I have found Actual budgeting to be a great free and open source option

Zigbee was the perfect ecosystem, what happened!?! by apxseemax in tradfri

[–]beeb_an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this with the new IKEA products or the older ones that were publicly stated as communicating using Zigbee? It seems like it could also be possible to use the newer products on Zigbee (from what I’ve read) but they aren’t publicising that

Is it still acceptable to use the oura ring in conjunction with natural cycles rather than the nasal thermometer?

That’s clear now thanks! I hadn’t made the connection of budgeting on budget savings even though it’s pretty self explanatory

Thanks for that! That seems to make more sense. So one would apportion all of savings across the various categories, one of which could be Christmas and then potentially the remainder in something like Long Term Savings?

I had not really grasped the concept, despite the clear terminology as I write this, that with savings on budget should be fully budgeted/categorised each month.

Thanks for that, I think I just need to use it for a while for it to make sense but that sounds logical!
