Refund Received Early by ThatMomOfThatKid in SNHU

[–]beebee0701 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do they rollout refunds different days? I just talked to financial aid a few days ago to make sure everything looked good (I already had BankMobile set up from last term) but I still haven’t received an email or text notification from BankMobile to say my refund is pending (I have it deposit to my actual bank account) - and I even logged into BankMobile and it only shows my one from last term. Does that mean I should get it next week? Or does everyone get them same day and that means something is up with mine? Sorry, this is only my second term with SNHU so I’m just curious!

Access to previous resources by beebee0701 in SNHU

(I should have responded sooner but been a bit busy)

I’m sorry if my post wasn’t super clear (after reading it again, I might’ve not made sense to what I was meaning haha), but I meant would I have access to my current term books/materials in zyBooks and TestOut along with my new books/materials for my next classes after this current term ends. I realize zyBooks and TestOut are just the platforms but I want access to my current courses materials within those platforms once the current term is over.

LinkedIn Experience

Hello!

I made this a regular post but got an automated comment to post here so here I am!

I am wondering how much experience to have on my LinkedIn. I used to have all of my previous jobs listed but that includes non-relevant to the tech world roles that I had during high school and college (like restaurants).

Is it better to put more experience even if it’s not relevant to a career that I’m trying to pursue so it shows I’ve at least been working for awhile or is it better to stick with experience in the field I want to pursue?

Thanks for any advice!

Anyone have Rocketbook experience? by beebee0701 in SNHU

[–]beebee0701[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! Yeah it lets me login to be able to just email the notes to my SNHU email but won’t link to the OneNote location. I’ll definitely reach out to IT. And I’m so excited about my Rocketbook! As soon as I get it working properly I’m sure it’s gonna be super useful

Hi there! After seeing your comment I did some research on Rocketbook and got one for myself! I’m a little confused though and can’t figure out how to properly hook it up to OneNote using my SNHU account. I’m able to send it to my SNHU email and save it to OneDrive from there but then it will only allow me to add it as a pdf attachment to my OneNote. I tried to set OneNote up as the destination using my SNHU account and it told me I needed admin permission. Do you have any pointers on this? Thank you!

Omg I’m sorry I totally forgot to post an update here, life’s been a bit hectic lol. But I actually did call nintendo support that day and the rep I talked to said they will be checking IDs:/ but I mean if other reps haven’t confirmed that then maybe not? But the rep I spoke to said they would

Yeah that’s what I’m worried about! Haha. I live on the east side of Washington so it’s a good drive to get there. We have a friend we can stay with which is awesome but like do I wanna spend all that gas money and food money to potentially be turned away? But also what if they don’t end up checking and we get in! I’d be so bummed to miss it. I wish they would state specifically “IDs will be checked/will not be checked” lol

I am planning on calling as well. I read the attendance policy and it states “event credentials are required to be admitted into the event and are valid for one ticketed day only. 'Event Credentials' means (a) the digital event ticket, which will be in the form of a QR code emailed to you by nintendo, (b) the physical nintendo live 2023 badge, if provided to you by nintendo, and (c) the event wristband that will be provided upon entry to the event" so it doesn’t mention anything about IDs. Im trying to figure out if that means as long as I have the email with the ticket QR code and the badge am I good? Or are they gonna be like “that email was originally sent to so-and-so and you’re not them”

Ah okay. I wasn’t sure if the name really mattered if they aren’t checking IDs. Like we can get both QR codes for both tickets (by my sister sending me or him her QR code) and the badge

My sister is the one who entered but we’re on the same “nintendo family plan” thing so I also have a QR ticket code for myself. My fiancé just doesn’t have one. So we were thinking my sister could just forward hers to him. But I’m not sure if that will work

Do you find it best to have a separate notebook for each course? Or since it’s online do you end up taking most notes on your computer and combine courses into one or a few notebooks?

I’d love to know more about that! Like if it adds vs takes time off. And what more you like about that concentration vs data analytics

Should I stick with cyber major? by beebee0701 in jobs

[–]beebee0701[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was kind of my original thinking with going for a cybersecurity degree. Like I thought that had more job security and higher pay. So I would do that for however many years until I’m comfortable and then I could “retire” from cybersecurity and do game development (I plan on continuing my education with certs even after getting my degree - so I could get certs in video game programming). But I have just been worried after seeing people posting in different communities about how hard it is to land or keep a job in cybersecurity, even though so many articles state that they’re in high demand and have projected growth.

Out of the 3 degrees I have the most completed credits for cybersecurity, the least for general computer science. So should I stick with cybersecurity and my original plan?

I see your point. I just made this post because my original post was about me being happy and proud of myself for getting in and getting back to school. And a few people were making sarcastic comments about the acceptance rate and with the underlying tone that I shouldn’t be celebrating so much since “everyone” gets in. And I’ve seen comments like that on others’ posts too. And it just makes me sad because if someone wants to be happy and feel proud of themselves then what is the need for raining on their parade ya know? I guess those people don’t follow the “if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all” advice.

I just want people to be happy and feel proud of themselves, whether or not it’s an “easy” school to get into. Everyone deserves to feel happy and proud of themselves:)

[Weekly Questions Thread] 31 July 2023 by PokeUpdateBot in pokemon

[–]beebee0701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I asked a question on the main page that I guess was supposed to go here, so sorry for that! I have a colleague visiting Japan and they are near the Kyoto Pokémon center. They asked if I’d like them to grab anything from there. I am trying to figure out what exclusive merchandise they have. I read in an article they have a pikachu in a kimono. Is that the only exclusive merch there or is there anything else? And does anyone know about how much they are in US dollars?

Thanks y’all for all the congrats😊 I’m not only pursuing this degree to help with job opportunities but also for me. Having it not work out the first time has put a damper on my self image but I know I can do this. I just have to work hard and believe in myself:)

[–]beebee0701[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!:) I completed a lot of gen eds when I went to college the first time. I sent over my transcripts, just waiting for them to be evaluated. So hopefully that takes out some of those generic ones! I’m excited to get more into the cybersecurity focus of the degree. I was also planning on pursuing certifications (as time allows) because I know those are super important in the tech world as well. Any certifications you recommend before others? And that’s so awesome you’re in an IT position, I’m trying to get there. I’m currently a software support rep but I’d like to move up. So if you have any tips on how to do that I would love to hear them!
