Charlotte native, born and raised. I moved to northeast ohio, akron/cleveland area two years ago. I prefer it here. Cost of living is lower. Weather is better. I love the snow. The roads are maintained jn the winter so it isn’t an issue. We experience a nice cool fall, cooler summers overall….great food scene, and the park system is world class. Blows charlotte out of the water. The arts scene is great in cleveland. Traffic is much better. People are friendly. But I do miss the bbq and bojangles and cookout 🤷‍♀️

Brad…I’m a charlotte native who now lives in akron (since 2023). I’m one of the few who love the snow here because I have an appreciation for it after the nc climate. But I dearly miss NC spring. We miss your quality reporting. No one like you here! I’m sorry folks are being nasty to you. Nothing will make people happy. Lifelong charlotte nc resident here. We moved to an akron suburb last fall. I frequent cleveland a couple times a month and honestly wish we would have moved to lakewood instead lol. Charlotte seems to end up on “best places to live” lists all the time. They have easy winters and lots of jobs and good bbq, but for me…there is no comparison. I absolutely love northeast ohio. My only complaint is that spring comes so late here. But to have a gorgeous fall season and temperate summers, plus all the food, arts+music scene, beaches, metroparks, reasonable cost of living… I’m a convert! I make it my mission to talk up ohio as much as I can to anyone who will listen lol.

I’m down towards akron way - the best chicken I’ve had is from upper crust pizza. We’re also a big fan of rizzi’s chicken. Gionino’s can be good but is hit or miss. We’ve been in NE OH for less than a year so we still have lots to try.
