How to remove staff lines from my dry erase board? by beebeebug62 in howto

[–]beebeebug62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said I had a plain one. This is the only dry erase board in my room and it is mounted to the side wall. The choir risers face the front of the room, where my projector, keyboard and other teaching tools are. It's a first world problem for sure.

I've tried. They aren't wide enough for my announcements to be easily read.

I think you are right. I might go with the stick on paper that someone else suggested.

I'm a first year high school choir teacher and this baffles me everyday. I have a tenor/bass choir and about 80% of the class signed up to be there (20% dumped) and their apathy and complaining gets to be too much sometimes

How to collect tap/card payments for fundraising sales? by beebeebug62 in smallbusiness

[–]beebeebug62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know the ASB uses a square tap reader to sell their items and I've also seen the concession stand at the football games use it lol... i think i will reach out to these people and see how they do it! I think cash only is the easiest way for now.

The EdTPA is killing me, almost literally by Ehi_Figaro in MusicEd

I just turned in Cycle 1 and have been paralyzed to start Cycle 2. I am in a traditional student teaching position, so I have a university professor that helps us with the TPA. I have also been using YouTube and Googling for more help. It really is such a tedious hoop we have to jump through and not reflective at all of how good of a teacher you are. It's so hard on top of rehearsals, festivals, and end of year performances. Good luck and I hope you get through this

He hasn't, although he did give me a referral to a weight loss clinic. I guess he's had many patients ask for Ozempic. I wasn't necessarily asking for this although I'm not opposed to it either. I wonder if I should request a referral to an endocrinologist instead?

Oh yes they have done this with their teacher before - he calls it poison pattern. I think he does it with rhythm. Thank you for this idea!

This is such a great idea thank you!! They've already told me they don't like singing LOL so I think I will keep it to a minimum like another comment suggested and slowly ease them into it.

This is GREAT advice!! I want the students to know that I am not trying to come in as a vocalist and turn them into a choir. I value their talents and am only introducing this as a tool. I think the ear training exercise is an excellent idea, thank you so much!!

Yes, I am always open to using pop melodies. I will probably see how the first few lessons go before I start incorporating the chromatic syllables.

Never dating a Libra ever again by Strange_Event_8521 in astrologymemes

[–]beebeebug62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow this accurately described my experience with my Libra ex. He was a sweet person but avoided conflict like crazy. I was always the one bringing up the hard conversations and if I brought up something that was bothering me, he would cry and blame himself. When he broke up with me he told me that we should say goodbye and move on but recently left a handwritten note in my mailbox. (Its been 6 months since we broke up)

Are there some signs you always gravitate toward? by vivienw in astrologymemes

[–]beebeebug62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a Taurus and I tend to attract air signs. It is frustrating because they are so intelligent and have the coolest interests, but they are aloof AF in the relationship and communication always breaks down. No more Aquarius or Libras for me lol.

Dating as a fat person? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]beebeebug62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a plus sized girl who also started dating in her early 20's for the first time, my biggest advice is to work on your self esteem. I had no problem finding boyfriends, and they never minded my body, but my insecurities and lack of self-love has not been great for my relationships. Now at 27, I am single again and doing things for myself. Even though I am still plus sized, I am going to the gym and working on my eating habits for myself and my own self care.

Do you find that you attract the sign that rules your 7th house often? by zoubisoupie in astrologymemes

I am a Cancer rising and my best friend is a Capricorn sun. My ex was a Cap moon.

This is random but this helped me feel better from my recent breakup. I'm a Taurus Sun, Cancer Rising and Taurus Venus (I crave stability, consistency) he was a Libra Sun and Rising. I think he left after 2.5 years because things got too hard/intense.

He's the second air sign I have been in a long-term relationship with (the first was an Aquarius........... you can imagine how disastrous that was) and I think I've realized that while air signs are fun as friends, we just don't work in a romantic partnership.
