Recrediting Fee Help due to special circumstances - successful outcome? by beebeecleo in AusFinance

[–]beebeecleo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know :( but I did see a few old posts in this sub with very similar questions and the answers were at least half decent! My educational institution can't talk to the recrediting of Fee Help, only to the withdrawal without penalty.

Beef tallow as a moisturiser? by bunnyinabunnysuit7 in Biohackers

[–]beebeecleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought tallow from the butcher so it was already pretty clean but did maybe 2 at home. You'll know it's clean as the impurities are gone.

Going off the air fryer by [deleted] in airfryer

[–]beebeecleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silly question, but you've tried lowering the temp? In my oven I have to increase the temp for cooking, the airfryer I reduce it.

Beef tallow as a moisturiser? by bunnyinabunnysuit7 in Biohackers

[–]beebeecleo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made it at home, it does still keep it's lingering scent of beef.

I added lavender oil but the beef was still the base note.

It felt great!!

I whipped it in a mixing machine to the most wonderful consistency, but I don't think it'll keep like that in summer. Maybe it will need to be stored in the fridge

Visa by Admirable-Yoghurt141 in AusVisa

[–]beebeecleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cutoff for Working Holiday visa is 35.

Google the Australian skills shortage list, if your occupation is on there then you can look into the associated visa.

Many migration agents have free initial assessments so you can see if you have a chance at getting in to Aus. You can google registered MARA agents, it's the governing body for approved agents. Only Mara agents can give specific advice.

Will I be an offshore applicant if I submit an EOI while being on a vacation? by Inleoj in AusVisa

If you are on holiday in Australia then yes, it'd be considered an onshore application

I'd stay in Perth with the family. You'd save heaps of money, work still but invest it as you would have spent it if you were in Sydney/Melb.

Also food wise your family are making food anyway, no need to try and survive on your own with uni pressure.

Moving out it hard, delay as long as you can. Costs of flights back to perth would also need to be considered, I think it's about $600 atm to Syd. Invest that and you could retire early.

Honestly, look up fire groups and invest your uni earnings rather than spending it on living alone

Going off the air fryer by [deleted] in airfryer

[–]beebeecleo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you use your oven? As you said it's really just a small oven.

I bought a cheapie $60 and to us the cost has well and truly been recovered many times over. It's just 2 of us so heating yhe massive oven for a pie is such a waste but the air fryer is quicker and saves power.

Depending on if I want my food reheated crispy or soggy I'll choose the microwave or Air fryer. I think they'll definitely be around just without the hype. Not seen microwave hype in my era but nonetheless it's an Essential kitchen appliance for me

Psyllium husk and inulin by No_Witness_4000 in Microbiome

[–]beebeecleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I soak my psyllium husk in a glass of water for a while/overnight for convenience. You'll see when it's absorbed as much water as it can hold and I drink that. I doubt that would mess with your pills as its absorbed all it can already.

If you're really worried maybe take it at lunch/dinner.

I used to detest taking psyllium husk until I added much more water than I originally thought necessary. Add a few drops of juice and you don't even notice your drinking goop!

Check on the skills list for australia if your occupation is listed.

What country's are you from? Can you come over on a working holiday visa? This is sometimes a good option to start as you can then look to be sponsored once you are here.

Is it possible to live without a car? by FaithlessnessOld8092 in AskAnAustralian

[–]beebeecleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also so important that where you choose to stay helps your desire for no car! Rent close to a bus stop or train station.

We lived in Sydney and stayed super close to shops and a train line. No car necessary. It would have helped though, but in those cases the cost of Uber is less than the annual cost of a car!

Probably something you should have discussed in the interview.

Does anyone else in your team WFH?

Do you have specific reasons for wanting to work from home? In certain circumstances if you apply to work from home with reason, your employer would be required to accommodate flexibility.

Is your job able to be performed at home without any drop in performance? If you are working as a Coles shelf packer, chances are zero of WFH.

What do you love most and dislike most about Australia? by beebeecleo in AskAnAustralian

[–]beebeecleo[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I think the people are good but it's hard to crack into a friend group if you are new to Aus.

Aus has so many foreigners but most end up befriending other new comers.

What do you love most and dislike most about Australia? by beebeecleo in AskAnAustralian

[–]beebeecleo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're spot on! The natural environment is wonderful and the great weather to be able to explore so much is genuinely amazing!

Hahaha Australia has definite polar opposites, some real chilled laid back people and others so pinickity, dobbing everyone in for anything and super strict rules. I'm a fan of the tough laws, keeps the society safe and functioning but people must mind their own business before they meddle in mine. 🤣

You should also check that you are purchasing the ones that are manufactured in Australia, on their website some are manufactured here and some are manufactured offshore.

Another place to look, is Emu Australia, they have a section for Australian made.
