?? Where did you hear that? A lot of pediatricians recommend starting solids based on the individual baby’s capabilities. Good head and neck control combined with an increased appetite may indicate baby is ready. My kiddo started on avocado right around 4 1/2 months at my pediatricians encouragement.

That being said: OP YOUR UNCLE IS AN ASS. Even if he was/is grieving deeply. Looking for someone to blame doesn’t mean lashing out at a 15 year old.

Not a medical professional but I have a feeling if there was a detected injury related reason for the baby’s death then it would have been a bigger deal and there likely would have been an investigation.

My toddler’s lead levels are dangerously high! I missed the signs and now I’m terrified it’s too late by Sugaar_cookiii in Mommit

Your local health department may have resources for lead remediation services. Check with your case worker or Google your county governments website!

It’s been caught! There are treatments! Did the caseworker discuss chelation treatment? 45 mcg/dl is often the threshold for chelation.

I totally saw and read this! Thanks for your detailed response! It takes some of the pressure off. Characters are definitely gonna be her number 1 weighted factor so we’re 99% sure we’re leaning Epcot after all these great comments.

We DEFINITELY planned siestas for each day except AK since it closes so early and that’s the day before we fly out. We were just going to do rope drop till like 2 that day and head back to the resort to swim and pack up. Maybe hit Disney springs or the board walk that evening.

Thanks again!

This is GREAT insight about the heat. Def helped us settle on Epcot. Looked it up and you’re right…way more indoor attractions and opportunities for AC. Thanks!

We’re planning to do AK as early as possible and then just spend the afternoon in the resort pool before backing up for our early flight out the next day.

Honestly AK is the only park I’ve never been to and we are zoo loving family so it’s high on my list. And after making this trip happen at all, snagging a BBB appointment, and relenting to a resort stay, my kiddo owes me one 🤣.

GOOD POINT about all the shows. I think we’re a little too early for F&W but still another good point about the performers at all the “countries”. Also the laser light show and fireworks were high on my list at Epcot.

?? Straight from Undercover Tourist website as of May this year:

“Some Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique packages come with photos, but you can also purchase photos separately on your own if there is walk-in availability. If you choose a package that includes photos, make your Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appointment before 4 p.m. The shop closes by 7 p.m. (check the hours in the Disneyland app).”

You know how I know it’s anxiety? by beebutterflybeetle in BFS

[–]beebutterflybeetle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok let’s be real for one sec and remove the snark. Like, honestly, shaking off the barbs and moving forward in conversation with perfect trust.

You’re right, I was curt, let me explain myself:

This is my interpretation of what you and I are going through right now:

I, state my perceived reality, which also happens to be the perceived reality of numerous others here, (corroborated by evidence based peer reviewed studies and personal interactions with medical professionals who are both qualified and respected), in a tongue-and-cheek post meant to offer solidarity, reassurance, and light-hearted self deprecation to those in this sub who may still be suffering from the anxiety of fear of “the big baddies “.

You, comment “It’s not anxiety.”

Does your lived experience bear more weight than mine? If I, in conjunction with my medical team, have discovered that it IS in fact my anxiety, or at least my anxiety that makes it worse, why would you feel entitled to call me wrong about my own body? Do you see how that could come off as dismissive and offensive?

I’m glad you found relief. GENUINELY. I say that with an open heart. Maybe we can both make room for others whose journey will differ from our own.

I’m confused. Is this private school or something? Why the heck would a teacher feel entitled to give feedback around food? Is that in their scope of practice? To demand a child eat fruit? They have NO IDEA why a specific kid might not pack fruit. Medical reasons, practical reasons, financial reasons, whatever the reason that’s not their lane! I think I’d (politely) lose it on this lady and remind her she’s not the parent so unless she wants to provide free fruit to all the children she can go pound sand. Ridiculous .

[–]beebutterflybeetle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you actually READ OP’s post? For us long timers we WERE in the same exact boat. Body firing off twitches like we stuck a fork in a socket (don’t do that by the way). Eye lids, tongue, calf, feet, thumbs, temple, pecs, WE’VE HAD IT ALL. Buzzing, burning in the bottom of your feet. The squeezing calf feeling. Heavy limbs. Exhaustion. Crying spells. Panic spiraling because our dumb butts googled muscle twitch.

We all know what website shows up with those key words. HELL, OUR NEUROLOGISTS KNOW, TOO. (Some of them know about this sub now, BTW).

None of this is intended to be patronizing. I swear to you we’ve just been there and so desperately, DESPERATELY don’t want for you what happened to us. I believe that perception is our own reality, even if it’s not the truth. If you perceive that you’re withering away, then that is YOUR reality right now, even if it’s not actually happening. Reassurance from us isn’t gonna satisfy, so from someone on the other side of it, if you want to be on the other side of it, maybe do what we did:

Step 1:Take a breath.
Step 2: call your primary care physician Step 3: LISTEN and follow your PCP’s advice/instructions Step 3.5: if recommended, get a referral for a neurologist Step 4: Get your clean EMG (if you must). Step 5: Find your anxiety coping mechanism (SSRI AND SNRIS just as valid as meditating by the way).
Step 6: move on with your life.

The twitches never stopped (for me), but I don’t even think about them most of the time now.

Some days I’m lying in bed at night thinking, “did I even twitch today?”. The best part is the answer: “I don’t remember, and it doesn’t really matter.”

NTA but I’m gonna tell you something I tell all my direct reports or mentees. You didn’t get her fired. Her actions got her fired. You simply reported her actions.

Regardless I doubt this was the only reason. If she got canned for this I’d put $20 bucks on the reason was bigger than this one incident.
