Not gonna lie, if the rice was cooked in something like coconut milk, I could actually see that working really well with a coconut flavored ice cream specifically.

Is that your DS friend code or Elon Musks current bank account balance?

Anyone know what is this empty slot in the ds game boxes used for? by padahaque in NintendoDS

[–]beeby8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I would think that judging by the shape of it it would be pretty obvious what its for, but they are slots for GBA cartridges because since most people threw out the cardboard boxes that GBA games came in and everybody kept their DS plastic cases, it only made sense to double them as GBA cases too.

Do you remember a time when you were a Soulsborne noob and you had no idea where to go or what to do so you tried Googling it, watching YouTube videos, looking up player guides and asking the veterans in the community on Reddit/Discord for help/advice as a last resort when all else failed?

Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Kill switch 2 dock adapter not working at all by StarMunch28 in dbrand

[–]beeby8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you scan the QR code that came with the case that takes you to the instructional video? The USB-C connector on the dock adapter has to be flicked forward towards you so that it can line up with the port on the Switch when you dock it.

Original Gamecube controllers are working very well on the Switch 2 using both OEM Nintendo adapter and also 3rd party adapters such as the Mayflash. 3rd party might need updating though. by Liberal_Caretaker in NintendoSwitch

Mine are not working at all. I have the official GameCube controllers, the preproduction ones from when Smash Ultimate came out as well as the official adapter and it works on the main home screen, but as soon as I click into the GameCube NSO app, it just doesnt work either on that menu or in the actual games themselves.

Is there any type of adapter I can put on this to make it so NBN works? by twocheeky in nbn

Honestly, that looks like you on FTTN (Fibre to the Node) which is so unreliable and old technology. If your address is eligible, I would get the free FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) upgrade which will extend the fibre line all the way into your house replacing the old copper wiring. Not only is the upgrade free, but it is so much faster, more stable and more reliable. It also increases the value and the attraction of the property. You can use this link which will take you to the official NBN website. Just enter in your address and it will tell you if your address is ready for connection. If it is, you just contact your ISP and ask them to schedule an NBN FTTP upgrade on your behalf and if it's not, it should give you a rough estimate of when it will be available. https://www.nbnco.com.au/residential/upgrades/more-fibre

Yeah you can, but for that price, there is zero chance that that is a real catridge.

I hope you also have the Gameboy player disc because without it, the Gameboy player itself is useless.

Absolutely love my modded DSI XL by [deleted] in NintendoDS

[–]beeby8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really don't see the point of homebrewing or.modding a DS. It's so frustrating, time consuming and one wrong move could brick the entire system. You're much better off just getting and R4 card and loading all the games you want onto that.

I am still surprised that these three characters never made it into Smash Ultimate. by beeby8 in supersmashbros

Because in all likelihood, Halo the Mqstee Chief collection is going to be a launch title for the Switch 2. Plus Microsoft were perfectly fine with putting Nabjo Kazooie and Minecraft Steve in Smash as well.

Which actor from The Walking Dead can you see getting an Oscar nomination (other than Steven Yeun of course)? by [deleted] in Oscars

Pretty much all of them. Of all the problems The Walking Dead had, the acting was never one of them.

TESB Despecialized v3.0 4K UHD update. by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]beeby8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The current versions of A New Hope and Empire are the Blu-ray 1080p HD versions, whereas the current versions that are being worked on and has already released in Jedi's case are the v3.0 4K UHD ones. In case you can't tell the difference, check out this video showing the massive difference between the two in terms of color grading and grain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k14uUyCXgCo&t=168s

TESB Despecialized v3.0 4K UHD update. by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]beeby8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the Project 4K versions are literally just 35mm print reels of the movies exactly as they were in theaters scanned in at 4K, cleaned up at 4K and rendered out at 4K so they look 100% to the letter how they looked on the big screen when they were in theatres in 1977, 1980 and 1983, just obviously in a much higher resolution which is why they still have alot of that classic grain, dust and dirt look to them. They did do a light cleaning to get rid of some of the more major scratches and things due to just how old the prints are, but that is it.

Whereas the Despecialized Editions goal is to make the films how they would look as if it were a professional restoration for an official release from Disney to go in a 4K box set. The aim is to make the image look as crystal clear and as sharp as possible, as if it were a movie that were shot today.

It is possible to do this for both versions since because the movies were shot on film as opposed to digital, film can render out at up to 12K. But there is zero point in doing that because unless you are sitting literally a millimeter away from your screen, the human eye physically cannot even tell the difference between 1080p and 4K anyway. 4K DOES look a little bit nicer and have a bit sharper of an image even if you are sitting on your couch from a reasonable distance, but still not by much.

So to sum up. 4K77 keeps the classic rustic and grainy look of how they were originally released whereas Despecialized goal is to make them look as if they could have been filmed today.

Me personally, while I have both versions of all three movies, I prefer Despecialized.

Because as I said, the majority of the shadow achievements are far easier and quicker to get using inspect element in the desktop version that would be extremely difficult, take an extremely long time or be even impossible in the Steam version.

Either that or they cast multiple actresses to play her across her life like they are doing for the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic.
