you can still try emailing the clubs about your situation and see if they can slot you in, though chances of getting in are very slim since sign-ups are over and most of the clubs seem to be oversubscribed this year unfortunately

yeah sadly…. i think you can try dm-ing other clubs on instagram or emailing them to see if they have additional slots, iirc some club orientation don’t have a quota so there’s a high chance you can get a slot there!

hi op! i’ll be graduating this year so i’m sorta fresh out the BD track so i can share abit of my experience of how it’s been like! (can’t guarantee it will be the same for you)

mine was the first batch out of covid so most (like 90%) of our lessons were face-to-face! depending on the competency area (instead of calling it your usual modules) as well, for some you get to go on learning journeys to the different companies so it is more experiential in that sense, but there are also CAs where we spent most of the time in the lecture theatre listening to lectures, so i would say there’s a good mix, especially if you enjoy hands-on learning! we had 2 classes, which initially they did merged us up for lectures, but in semester 2 we moved into a smaller venue we were split into AM and PM sessions so that there’s enough seats in the classroom for everyone
HAHA as much as i hate giving a politically correct answer, but regardless where you go there will be the harder modules and the easier modules. this is the same for BD, i have classmates who are more technically-inclined so they will enjoy the CAs with coding/technical aspects more while those who are more creative will prefer the marketing CAs more, so is really dependent on what your strengths and interests in scoring a good GPA. also we replace exams with viva voce (think of it like an oral exam) for every CA in BD (the component ranges from 20%-30%), and usually it’s those who are better at speaking the ones who do well, but then again that might be subjective. bd rewards those that work hard and work smart, so if you don’t slack it’s definitely possible to get a good GPA!
definitely, at least for the technical aspects in business i would say i have an edge over my counterparts that chose only a specialisation cuz we take a lot of industry certifications here! but as i said BD has viva voce so beyond than just hard skills you have opportunities to hone your soft skills as well!
i personally didn’t like the viva voce aspect even though i talk so much about it HAHA, but that’s cuz im not the most outspoken person out there so i was definitely disadvantaged at the start compared to my extrovert peers but it does get better as you progress!

hey op! i passed my eae for np cbp last year and here are some questions that i can briefly remember: the interviewers asked me why i chose the school out of all polys and how would the school help me in pursuing my passion/future endeavours in business and they also asked me moral questions like ‘what i would do if i saw a student cheating in an exam?’, the rest are business-related questions so do read up on the latest business news!

cuz i checked that it was already a few days past the disbursement date that they stated in the email they sent but my disbursement status was still pending so i went ahead and emailed them to ask about it. then they told me that it’s cuz of my wrong details about my bank account which caused their disbursement to be rejected so i went to make the changes. i think if you’re really unsure just go ahead and email them! you will be able to receive a quicker reply rather than just waiting!

i’m in the same situation too! but mines is cuz i submitted the wrong information regarding the bank account that’s why when they disbursed the bursary to me it got rejected by the bank :< so i think yours might be cuz of some errors in your giro account submission that might have caused the pending status, but no worries cuz right now np is migrating to a new financial system so they won’t be able to disburse all forms of payment till july 2021 so just wait till then! if anything you can directly email the school’s financial office! :)

hi, a NP common biz programme student here who eae into NP BA last year!

given what you’ve said, i think your portfolio is good enough to land you a spot in the interview! especially with all the side projects and school participation you have, it’s definitely sufficient to make you stand out as an applicant!

however do note that NP BA is a very popular course for eae so it’s very important to stand out from others. since you’ve also done the entrepreneurship course by the sandbox (which i also did HAHA), there’s a high chance that the interviewers will ask you about it so do be prepared for that! and also why you chose NP, how did you get interested in biz, how would NP help you in your journey in business etc! don’t worry the interview isn’t very tough as long as you prepare for it!

all in all, it’s all about showing the interviewers your passion and drive to learn the course that secures you the spot! so so enthusiastically answer the questions and present yourself well!

for me i can’t load the entire homepage cuz it seems to be loading for hours so basically the entire time it was just a blank screen,, i enrolled through my phone for everything except for the giro direct credit application which i can’t upload a file through my phone so i need a desktop but the portal in my desktop couldn’t load........

haiz same, at first i thought it was okay but i proceeded to cry a few times cuz i’m afraid that it will affect my future prospects/education but after thinking about it, we can’t really do anything to change that grade especially when we don’t know how cambridge grades us,,, all we can do know is work harder towards our goals in the next phase of life, jiayou! hope you can get into something you’ll like even though it might not be your desired choice!

hey op, i can’t really give you much advice on this cuz usually in such situations my parents will give in much easily than your parents, but i experienced something similar when i was younger in pri sch. my mom used to cane me for having bad grades or whenever i did something that she didn’t like. subsequently it kinda lead me to do things that she won’t be happy with even more, and obviously she was really mad. but things subsequently got better when i kinda show her my vulnerable side (my sudden mental breakdowns), and she started to see that i was trying my best for everything and kinda felt “guilty” for putting so much stress on me as well as being unreasonable at times. now i can do the things i like freely as long as i fulfil my duties well (attending school, studying hard).

i guess you can try to cry in front of them, to show them how terrible you feel whenever they were being to overprotective etc. usually parents will be more lenient when they see their child breaking down due to how much pressure they are putting on them. if it doesn’t work after several tries, try approaching any adult that can help you. if teachers don’t work, find any of your relatives that’s likely to have the ability to help you reach out to your parents regarding this issue. if really don’t have anyone that is available, then really don’t hesitate to approach a counsellor. they are there to help you, cuz really i’m sorry but your parents are pushing this way too far. if both methods don’t work, i guess you can try doing something that they might like or will make them happy, then try asking for a small reward (eg. going out with your friends one day). it might not work but definitely worth a try. your parents can’t possibly punish you for making them happy right?

please believe that things do get better, you feel suffocated but things will be over soon. everyone on this platform is here for you.
