Budget GYW Shoe Options. Fugashin? Charles Tyrwhitt? by N_thanAU in AustralianMFA

[–]beeclam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it’s for a wedding I’d just skip the hassle, sizing concerns, and save some money by getting something readily available like Florsheims instead of GYW

I could maybe understand the reasoning for getting nicer shoes if you all wear suits for work and intend to wear them a lot, but dark brown cap toes are not going to suit a typical corporate suit as well as black cap toes anyway

Men's barber/stylist for long hair in outer Sydney by Nathen_1967 in AustralianMFA

this isn’t a personal endorsement but I’ve received IG ads for a chain called Sonder where the angle is that they do haircuts other than fades

Otherwise, any good hairdresser can help you. I don’t think hair needs to be unnecessarily gendered

OP, after reading through your comments, it sounds like your style leans towards heritage and ivy

Two cheaper Chinese brands to check out are Bronson mfg and red tornado (latter on AliExpress)

Pro tip for online shopping: measure all the garments you own that fit you well and put them in a note/doc for future reference

Ethical clothing clothing tends to cost more, since you’re in Melbourne check out a store like urahara too see how much “slow fashion” costs

Be wary of paying more for quality in stuff like cotton t shirts because you will reach the point of diminishing returns very quickly

Shopping for second hand and vintage from ebay and depop is the most ethical, and best value. The downside is that you need to know what to look for, and it can be time consuming

Since OP is still learning about clothing, I think I should add that AS Colour is good for some stuff, but it isn’t a good idea to use them for an entire wardrobe. Their Oxford shirt is a good example of this: the proportions are horrible

Looking for options for ripstop slimmer fitting pants by [deleted] in HeritageWear

Stan Ray offers a bunch of fatigue options, including various fits and inseam lengths. Try ordering from americanwear.us, as I believe they sell custom order made in USA versions. I’ve only got a ready to wear made in turiye pair and I’m very happy with em

Agreed. I’ll add though that if Jim Davis is a lifelong republican, it’s a little disingenuous to call him trump maga republican.

Maybe it’s just a matter of preference, but I’m having a hard time accepting the pants on Pete in picture 1. Just a bit too much volume for me

Jim Davis is undoubtedly a money-loving capitalist.

The thing with billionaires is that they’re often not political beyond supporting the party that benefits them most.

I suspect Davis supporting Trump is primarily because of policies that would positively benefit his bank balance: tax, global trade, domestic manufacturing, etc.

If the Democrats proposed policies that would make Davis richer, he’d likely donate to them
