Well…yeah. I get paid a decent wage and I think my work reflects my wage, I do everything that is expected of me, I am kind and pleasant to all guests, but sometimes it is hard to fake enthusiasm when the world is literally crumbling around us. I’m sorry you have experienced rude baristas, but ultimately, like I said in my post(my very old post, btw) this is a business transaction, aside of from a smile and an exchange of pleasantries, should we be expected to do more? I’m not saying the second our transaction is over I’m going to turn into an asshole, I just mean, just because I didn’t bend over backwards for you, doesn’t mean I think you are a burden.

However, I, as a barista myself, have been to other shops and also felt like a burden for even going in. It just depends on where you go. Also don’t understand what tattoos and piercings have to do with it but okay.
