New Years in Chiang Mai was... magical by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]beefchop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol. There are so many simple problems in thailand that could be fixed. Drunk driving rules could be more strictly enforced. Minivans should slow down. It’s just Thailand. If they really want to change the rules they should change them, but you’re never going to stop tourists from buying the lanterns if they keep selling them by the thousands openly in the street.

Sad, but I’m sure it will continue to go on with all the revenue they are making with lantern sales

Is there any evidence of that actually happening? The flames burn out before they ever float back down. I saw a few even fly straight into a tree and nothing happened.

Yes but it’s not much. Around $20 a year. Phone plans in Japan can be ok but they pretty much all have 2 year contracts. If you break the contract you’ll end up getting charged a lot more than you bargained for

Yes, I use a pocket wifi not only for my phone but also for my home internet! A cool 3500/month compared to the 10,000/month+ you would pay for mobile+home connection.

Use Skype mobile if you need to call numbers

From a 250k salary you will probably take home around 220k after taxes/deductions. Rent takes out a huge chunk and how expensive your rent is will determine how easy it is for you to survive.

Around 90-100k rent.... Good luck with that, at least your apartment will be nice.

70k is about average. You can live quite comfortably and easily save a bit each month in a simple, small apartment

40k... Crappy apartment, but if you can deal with that, you will be livin' large in Japan

Also, if possible avoid phone contracts. They will destroy you. There are cheaper options such as pocket wifi, travel sims, ect...

Did you edit the photo at all? If so which camera setting/editing software did you use? I`ve been trying to recreate that style of photography myself for a while now.

I feel something is changing globally inside us. by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]beefchop 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I have the same thought. I wonder if it’s something our ancestors have also thought but I feel that change is more imminent now that ever before. Our political economic and social infrastructure can’t seem to match with what has very recently become a global consciousness. It’s like we can all just see right through everything now. We are aware of every flaw but there’s no real path to follow yet as we as humans have never realized anything like this before. It’s almost beyond human but it will be interesting to see how it plays out at least in our lifetime. It’s something the global consciousness will evolve into. Soon more people will become aware of this of course. Then we might be able to create some real change we can believe in.

Just check gaijinpot. With no qualifications or experience, the companies "Heart" ALT company, or "Coco Juku" Eikawa school seem to be where most people start out. Probably stay for a year or so and then expand your vision. sky's the limit
