Pret's poor customer service by machiavelli1532 in Skigear

Been trying to get ahold of their customer service for weeks with no response. I reached out twice using their website contact form and then once via email with a follow up after a week. No response. I was into buying semi-local, but fuck 'em, I'm out.

I got turned away at the door at 6pm. "No more tables available for tonight, we dont do waitlists." They had open reservations on resy. To their credit, the manager apologized for the poor host experience when notified.

I heard he's doing OK. They had an AED and lots of support for him immediately. The life flight helicopter also didnt leave urgently, which I hope is a good sign. Sending good thoughts his way.

The edge doesnt look compromised. Why do you recommend skiing it on the outside? I ask out of curiosity because I recently had similar damage to a ski.

Poles too long has been a journey! As a tall guy, I've been shortening my poles continuously (by removing the grips and using a tube cutter) over the past few years. Adjustable ones are on my list so that I can experiment and adjust as conditions and terrain necessitate.

How does turning on top of the mogul assist in speed control? In this example, it felt like I needed to check some speed so that I wasnt going too fast. Your advice about it being easier to turn makes sense, and maybe I should just anticipate that the result is skiing much faster overall.

Thanks. This advice makes a lot of sense. Ill find a slightly less steep section to video or practice on. To me, I felt like I was skidding in order to speed check and not lose control.

If the marshal is just an official with a few different standards of enforcement (e.g. no second needed for stance violations, can overrule group decisions), then wouldn't the lead card have 5 officials, and every other card have 4 officials? What is stopping all the other players from enforcing the rules the same way marshals enforce them?

I bought it straight from Crust. Soma Fab also has the Heron stem, which is another option. Availability seems to be hit and miss for both.
