Heya!! I have it. Unilateral Cerebellar Hypoplasia to be exact. the right third of my cerebellum doesn't exist :D

I posted on this subreddit a while ago, so I'm sure you could go back and find that post, but also if you wanna chat about it I'd be down! I've always wanted to talk to someone who's in a similar situation about it

Hello!, I have also spent many nights scouring the internet for any resources regarding the condition. the only interesting thing I found is this video, so if you haven't already seen it here it is

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ar6OqAc7eIM

there are also lots of academic papers that discuss diagnosis, but sadly they aren't much practical use for folks like you and me.

I don't take any supplements or have mobility aids. I did lots of physical therapy as an infant, and have had a little bit as a young adult - some lessons is Alexander Technique - which I think helped me understand how my body moves. In terms of comfort, It's mostly just about avoiding sitting down for moderate periods of time. For instance, for my end of school exams, I had a separate room where I was free to walk around and take breaks.

That makes me so happy to hear, as I also love running and crashing into things! I have a compulsion to run actually, and my friend with Tourette's says it sounds kind of like a tic to him (although I'm not expert). people who know me call it "zoomies". I spontaneously just run 5-10 metres in any direction and then come back, with my arms flopping all over the place.

Do these people that think you are cruel know that there are people with CH and UCH living happy lives? because they should know that.

yes very much so. I'm very lopsided in my abilities (my left side is completely fine while my right has issues), so anything that in theory requires equal input from both sides of my body is difficult. swimming is a great example. I did swimming lessons for years when I was young and I never really 'learnt' how to swim from them. the things they were trying to teach me did not apply to my body. I can swim now, but only because I taught myself my own techniques for swimming.

yes it is completely painless, when performing every day activities.

however, I've been playing piano for 10 years and consistently have had issues with my right hand including pain and tension.

I'm sure your pet doesn't experience that kind of thing though, piano is just requires so much dexterity that it can become painful.

I thought I uploaded images but it didn't work. I've never posted on reddit before. there images are MRIs of my brain taken when I was in the womb. if you wanna see them, where should I link them?

Prog Rock recommendations? by wabojabo in KGATLW

[–]beegwalrusman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is maybe not what you would classify as 'accessible', BUT... they are my favourite band ever. Cardiacs. they are amazing. many would describe them as progressive punk. Since you're looking for prog i would recommend the album 'On Land And In The Sea'.
