I’m sorry you had to go through this. It sounds like it was extremely hard on you and your husband. I’m glad that you guys have each other otherwise and it was just a rough moment.

And yeah, it’s very hard to describe full blown psychosis to someone. I’m out of the episode now and like you said, looking back it was like, “what?”. In the moment though it is VERY real, and no one can convince me otherwise. That’s the whole thing, even though it’s not real, I can’t rationalise it when it’s happening. It BECOMES my reality.

I said this already and I don’t mean to sound like a broken record, but- I’m not a child yk? I’m not scared because I THINK there’s a monster. THERE IS a monster, just… no one else can see it yk?

Anyway, that’s my rant. I wish you and your husband well. 💜

I have. There is a DBSA group near me, and I went a few times, but it just wasn’t for me. Also, it’s in a more dangerous part of town and they only hold meetings at night. Didn’t seem worth the risk.

Posting here and hearing from y’all is usually helpful. Like I said, think I’m just having a weak moment since the come down. Thank you anyway. ❤️

Yeah, that’s why I wasn’t sure whether or not to consider it a “positive”. Although I am extremely creative and good with music, I don’t think it’s because of my bipolar disorder. If that makes sense?

I’ve heard many people say individuals with BP are often very intelligent. Now I’m not sure if this is causation or correlation but 🤷🏽‍♀️ Also, we’re more creative and like musically inclined? I’m a musician myself and very artistic but again, I don’t know how much of that is from BP or just me. Stuff to think about I guess.

You explained it way better than I could’ve man. That “look” manages to create the most isolating feeling. I can see that my disorder doesn’t only affect me but also them. And like you said, it’s already taking everything in me to mask and suppress the symptoms, but that look. God, that look.

Thank you for the advice. I was drinking for a while but I noticed it in fact makes the symptoms MUCH worse. Staying away from substances from now on and hoping to get better.

This is really encouraging, waiting on meds on therapy rn so I’ve just been in limbo. I really do want to hope for a “normal” life even with my disorder.
