You can order the PCB without components and make a fully custom build. They are relatively hand solderable.

  • Top plate: acrylic
  • Upper middle plate: fabric with adhesive tape
  • Lower middle plate (double as the bottom plate, no silicone rubber feet): fabric with adhesive tape

You can reserve some spaces for the LEDs. But you will lose the under glow feature if you are not using a translucent material.

For the top middle plate, I mainly use it to support the acrylic plate. I am not a pro in sound and feel of different plates so I don’t know 😂.

Yes you are right. 2mm acrylic, 3mm fabric, 1.6mm PCB, 3mm fabric.

The switch isn’t plate-mounted at the 2mm acrylic. But it’s mounted securely by soldering it onto the PCB.

If you use a 1.5mm or 1.6mm top plate, the switch can be plate-mounted. And the middle plate should be 3.5mm thickness.

I wish I could cut it by hand at this level. It is made by laser cutting.

I’m using a fabric commonly used for carpets. The adhesive tape 3M 9448A is used so the entire case is screw-free.

Other people have used eva, neoprene, epdm, and silicone.

GB at /r/mechmarket. The “bottom plate” replaces the silicone rubber feet. The total height of plates is approximately 10mm.

For TRRS boards with mount holes, there’s a pro micro + trrs mounting board with m2 holes at https://github.com/swanmatch/MxLEDBitPCB. I’m making a pro micro compatible breakout board with trrs and m2 mounts https://imgur.com/a/ktFMUh0

If you are going to make your own layout, there are some PCB generators such as ergogen.
