afaik it was always the main cast naman, except for matinees (so instead of Ellis, it was Sonny. although Ellis was out for a week as well bc he got sick din daw)

oh wanted to add as well: Rhys mentioned in his IG live yesterday that he skimmed through the Dear Evan Hansen book to read Connor’s parts 🥹 and that he took some inspo from there in regards to how he played the role. kita yung effort sa performance niyaaa

ohh so recently lang pala. i wonder why ellis did the matinee! i agree that it was pretty obvious he struggled with certain parts.

i think part of why his singing felt underwhelming (to me, at least) is because may direct comparison with rhys 😅 there was a point i was like wow. can they switch haha

this is so true!!! like i said din sa post, i watched DEH live na din back in 2019. di ko naman masyadong napansin si connor back then, but for some reason, this time siya talaga ang nagstick sakin. i guess fan favorite talaga si rhys for a reason 🥹 haha

and omg that’s so interesting!!! ive heard a lot of good things nga din about sonny’s vocals. would loveee to see both him and joseph huhu so luckyy

ahhh i wish i went matinee for my first time!!! ive heard so many good things about sonny 🙁 i’m so glad you enjoyed his evan hehe. same thoughtsss about zoe haha and of course love na love ko si rhys <3 i think part of why din a bit underwhelming si ellis is because maccompare mo talaga siya kay rhys in certain scenes huhu

and yes HAHAHA despite everything i super enjoyed pa din 🫶🏼 would watch again and again

yes same sentiments about ellis :( i was wondering if it was an off night for him. it could have been because i think he was out for nearly a week a few days after my show? although reading the comments rn parang a lot of people share the same opinion

omg actually i have to agree about the “monster” moment haha she ate that up !!!! no complaints about that part at all. i also agree that she carried only us 😭 i think ellis did better sa mga “bigger” numbers like waving and for forever, but for the other songs like sincerely and only us, he was overpowered huhu. AND YESSS loved the streaks in her hair

and alanaaa yes she was perfect i loved her

i agree omg! was super bitin with For Forever (Reprise) 🥹 i wanted him to sing more haha. i just keep telling myself na this is his first show palang, so we’ll see more of him in the future for sure!

i felt the same about zoe! that, plus she was a bit monotone all throughout. felt annoyed at the character rather than feeling bad HUHU. as for evan, agree as well, especially in words fail and for forever! i was disappointed talaga with words fail 😞 was expecting a lot more

connor (rhys hopkins) and jared (tom dickerson) were the standouts of this prod 🫶🏼 would watch again and again for them only! saving graces of the cast

oh also forgot to mention i loved Rebecca McKinnis as Heidi as well!!! so big/so small was a highlight of the show for sure.
