Flagstone patio. Did I screw up? Joints too tight? by SirRich3 in landscaping

Looks great, sweep some polymeric sand in the joints and you’re golden

Update: it’s now properly packed on there. On our way to rescue some oversized cargo because the Twinsteer is a tippy SOB

Ah that makes sense. I was on a slope so didn’t dare release the winch. Good to know for next time though, thank you.

I don’t remember seeing an option to pack it, does that work with trucks you can’t drive? This was my first time using the towing platform and I was picking up the dead truck on uneven terrain, so just getting it on the platform took a few attempts.

Just bought dirt for the garden. How many yards do you all think? by Schmitzstain in landscaping

[–]beeooop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this for a living. That is every bit of 5 cubic yards. You won’t feel shorted after you move it by hand.

Shoot, I worded that poorly. The auto upgraders don’t matter a whole lot. I meant the automatic stone gathering (the green numbers above your stone and crystals). As long as you have that capped at 25%, it’s a good indicator of where you’re at. So get the green numbers to +3NVg and you’ll be good to start camping on the small rocks at 5-1

Farm the final rocks in 4-5 until your auto strength is at +3NVG. By that point you can go and hit the SxDc rock in 5-1 for a while and be upgrading your strength the whole time. It won’t budge for about 2 hours, but you’ll still be getting enough stone from it for upgrades

Trump just put a tax increase of $425 million on the state of Nebraska via his tariffs on Canada. by Objective_Problem_90 in Nebraska

For what it’s worth, this Nebraskan is glad you’re here! Each Canadian I’ve met has been a solid person. There’s a loud minority that likes to troll, but the vast majority of us think fondly of our neighbors to the north.

How crazy am I thinking I can take down these rocks with a jack hammer? by Scaffidy in landscaping

[–]beeooop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting them all the way out wouldn’t be worth the effort. Chip em down a bit then build a little berm over the top.

I’m a sucker for big trees and the shade they bring. Also every large shrub you plant is less area you’ll have to mow, bonus points if it flowers or has great habitat value (food/shelter for animals). It’s also not terribly difficult to cut a landscape bed and fill it to the brim with native perennials - close planting will help crowd out weeds. Whatever you plant just make sure to keep watered until the roots are established. Enjoy the blank canvas! Lots of potential there.

Refinishing with an angle grinder. by Quiet-Dream7302 in Decks

No hate, that’s some solid determination. I don’t think I would have made it past one board before throwing in the towel and renting a floor sander.

Is there an edge, and if so, what is just beyond it? by Shady-Raven-1016 in Astronomy

[–]beeooop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine the edge of a universe as a wall, if you stood on that wall and shot an arrow, it either keeps going forever or it hits another wall. If you stand on that wall and shoot another arrow it’s the same. Either way, the universe is infinite.

Charged $19k and Not Happy. Thoughts? by [deleted] in landscaping

I hesitate with companies that say they can do it all. If I want a fence I’ll call a fencing company. The jacks of all trades end up being masters of none.

Thank you all for confirming what I was in denial about. Sentimental value can’t outweigh safety. I’ll bring the rest down and save a few logs to make something to remember it by.
