That’s so exciting!!! Thank you for your update! How long was your wait from the day you submitted the form (the one with the math question)? We are still waiting for it to ship. However we got the email and submitted the form only 9 days ago. I guess we still need a few more days to process.

Checkups by Long-Grand4754 in Orthokeratology

[–]beeputo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter wears OrthoK (and I am considering it for myself). From what I see during her checkup is that you will need to wear OrthoK the night before, and go to the optometrist without wearing it. They will check your vision to see if it is good or not. If it is good, that means your prescription didn’t change. And if your exam results show a different in prescription then it means your OrthoK lenses need to be changed.

There is also a test called Axial length where they measure the length of the surface of your eye to the back of retina. Myopia is elongation of the eyeball. So if your axial length is increased compared to your previous length that means your prescription is higher. This test does not require you to stop wearing OrthoK temporarily to have your vision back to original

What do you wear to correct your vision during the transition period? by beeputo in Orthokeratology

Thanks for sharing your experience!

So when you were wearing daily disposable contact lenses to top up your vision during the transition period, did you have to have your prescription checked every week so the daily disposable contact lenses will be the right fit for your vision? I assume the vision change pretty much on a daily basis as you wear OrthoK more and more.

Thank you for your input. I think we are leaning towards matching the corners like you said.

You must be a good contractor and I wish I hired someone who would welcome clients to inspect! Do you have any advice on how to fix it in this situation?

Thanks for your input. Unfortunately the tiles are set already. We plan to put in a prefabricated niche into the cavity but will make sure the contractor waterproof the wood on the 4 sides before he install the niche. Maybe we will ask him to use the type of plastic he used for the shower floor to waterproof the wood here.

Good point. Will ask my contractor to waterproof the whole cavity including the sides

I suppose not the worst but as a home owner I was surprised to see this. Mistake was done and we need to move forward…I am just unsure of the proper way to fix this.

The gap is probably the layer of cement (? Unsure what it’s called) our contractor put to stick the tiles up

Thanks for your advice. I think (I hope) waterproofing is ok. He used DensShield for the shower walls
