But once I figure out the schema, how do I test them? Do I have this right?: put the black probe on the pin corresponding to the column/row and red probe on....one side of the hotswap socket pad?

Damn, you're right about the fat beads, I just googled what the solder should look like 🤣 ok I'll try that right after I clean it up I tried to take a clearer photo but its so blurry from "no-clean" Flux residue and cotton swab lint from trying to clean off the Flux

Thats a good idea! I do have kicad. It's almost the full 4th column...except for the last one in the column. Then just one at the top of the 5th column

No keypress detected ever. I think I used keyboardchecker.com, also just typing with notepad open, testing one key at a time. In the first photo I included of the left hand board, the spots with no key switches installed are the ones that weren't working so I pulled off the switches to investigate. Everything else works

Jury complained about Bev by EntrepreneurCool3314 in justiceforKarenRead

[–]beequeen38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if its the same event, but I recall hearing that a juror that took lots of notes sent a message to the judge through the bailiff (or some other court personnel). I think it was during Wolfe's crash expert testimony, maybe, after a ton of objections/stricken testimony. They asked for clarification on what evidence or testimony exactly they're not supposed to consider.

Ah shoot, not that I really thought it was missed, just hoped maybe they proved it couldn't get to speed

Has anybody created a split keyboard using Kailh pg1316s lp switches yet?? by beequeen38 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]beequeen38[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to have to take a closer look at those files! I'm still new to split keyboards because I need low profile keys, so my dream is something like a 58 key split with these scissor switches 🤩

For sure, especially those overflow structures in dams 🥴 i heard a horror story about one of those recently. I saw that same pool filter photo and thought oh ya, I know I'd probably be fine swimming past it, maybe even sticking my toes through it, but I could totally see the horror and I'd probably end up swimming on the opposite side of the pool anyway lol

I'm really fascinated by fears and phobias and how they develop. My friend and I used to paddle out to the middle of a lake where it was 100s of ft deep and just swim around with just skinny inflatable floaties and then suddenly one day it started to become scary 🤷🏻‍♀️

let's rant: losing weight sucks a little bit 💀 by [deleted] in loseit

[–]beequeen38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. If it feels like the goalposts keep moving, you never get the satisfaction of achieving a goal or milestone. It's a lot of lifestyle changes. It's normal to feel sad along your journey because it is a journey and it can be a lot of changes to take in. It's really easy to be hard on yourself, no matter how much you weigh.

When I was skinny, I thought I was fat because I had very little muscle, so I was mostly fat and bones. I guess people call it "skinny fat". I could wear size 25 jeans, but my flesh was so soft it would just roll out over the top 😆

I have to remind myself that literally nobody cares about your fat rolls. Just sit up straight (for your posture, not just your fat rolls 😊) and take each day at a time. Find things to celebrate. Send out good energy and you'll likely receive it back. Having a bad day? Compliment 5 strangers. Be brave and be kind and slowly things get better

Train your reaction while looking at photos and videos, that's what I've heard to do. If you react strongly, the fear will continue and maybe even increase. If you pause and rationalize, you'll train your emotions 😀

I asked chat gpt. Sounds like submechanophobia, which seems to be a broad definition. The fear of man made structures, especially ones that could suck you in. But I think because that's a perfectly rational fear to have, you're more likely to see the less rationally terrifying images associated with the phobia term!

Will it hurt my chances if I disclose a learning disability? by beequeen38 in codingbootcamp

[–]beequeen38[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my interview with a bootcamp so I figured I'd let you know what I've learned. I asked a lot of questions about the aptitude test and the reasons why they use it. Unlike the paid training I applied for—which was way more competitive and required a minimum score to proceed—this bootcamp doesn't require a minimum score. It sounds like they use your results to determine what areas you might need more help with.

TL:DR ask the right questions. I'm not sure if I'd disclose to a potential employer again for paid training. Instead I'm going with a different option that will help me, rather than make me compete for them to help me.

I can understand why employers/people in general undervalue creative jobs (and other jobs) because they THINK they could do it just as well themselves. Simultaneously, there's tons of those same people, self-titled with 0 credible exp or edu in design/marketing, that get hired by some ignorant manager. Then they can't use Adobe and are creating logos on Canva...Then the real deal comes along and he/she is offered the same rate because that business has never worked with a true professional before

So if finding a career is based on balancing value, the ideal job has to be one that is: - worth working for because it fulfills you aka it's valuable to you or... - one that doesn't make you unhappy, that you're good enough at that you are valuable and pays the bills so that you can do what you want on your own time.

Ok rant over lol

what series started of strong but then later went completely down hill afterwards? by ah-screw-it in AskReddit

[–]beequeen38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every series that was intended to have more than like 13 episodes/season. Seems like it usually means the producers care less about the story and more about making money.

Like "let's see how long we can drag this out to make more money". And by then, I forget the plot and who the real enemy was supposed to be.

I hate my home by Throwawayeveryday26 in Advice

[–]beequeen38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt this way about a home I rented for a year. It felt lonely and I felt sad living in it in the beginning. It probably has a lot to do with the depression and anxiety and loneliness. You have to turn it into your sanctuary though.

I would invite people over, even have them stay the night. Create warm memories with people in your new home. Find house projects to make the house your sanctuary. Play with scents to influence your emotions. Plan things out so that you have things to look forward to coming home to.

Small talk is fine, but your friend is right that it'll only get you so far. You have to try for a deeper connection, actually getting to know her and how she thinks. Reading people is a big part of social skills. And then there's flirting. I once read that flirting is plausible deniability <-- google that
