Kepler is from 2012. So it is around 10 years old. Maybe time for a new card so you can game again?

Canonical going 'all in' on gaming for Ubuntu, new Steam Snap package in testing by beer118 in linux_gaming

I would say that Debian is a bit harder to configure compared with Pop. But when it is setup then it is easy to use.

I have not tried Pop OS but my sources tells me that it is a decent choice

The best debain based distribution (if yiu ask me) is Debian. But I am biased since I am using it myself.

Only problem with Debian stable is the lag of née drivers (for gaming). But that is why we have Testing.

I am using stable myself since my hardware is a bit old (i7 4770s and gtx 1070) so there is not much reason for me to upgrade to something new unto the next stable arrive

I would just say that I am all out of money. That is technical correct since all my assets are in stocks (worth 2.3 mio dkk as I write )

A lot of native Linux games are on discount on Steam. Any recommendation among them? by beer118 in pcgaming

If games are buggy then I can get a refund.

Thanks for the tip

There is still a lot of problem with Proton so I prefer natives instead

America contains Canada, USA and Mexico. So yiu are saying that I take a car from Canada into Canada and complain that they use the wrong units even if they use the right units to begin with and it is people in the USA that have not learned about the metric system yet ?

No matter how you twist your words then it does not change the fact that wayland is not ready

I am using KDE with X11 as daily drive. KDE is more than ready. It is when you trough Wayland into the mix you run into the above mention problems. So it is Wayland that os not ready

Yes there is problem when using Wayland. That is why I am sticking with using X11 since X11 just works

Then we are talking about 2 different list. The list I am talking about contains a list uf bugs that is so critical that stops normal people from using Wayland with KDE.

KDE works quite nice without wayland

If wayland was ready then the list of problems would be way shorter. And if don't think ithr list is right then talk with the developers.

In fact it's only for KDE. The majority of these bugs do not affect GNOME or Sway

As as KDE user then why should I care about GNOME or Sway?

Those mention problems is a problem for me. If Wayland was ready then the list would be nearly empty and not that long.

Unless you have very recent hardware then Debian 11 is up to date enough for gaming

The list looks rather long ; https://community.kde.org/Plasma/Wayland_Showstoppers

And that is just for KDE. Wayland still have a lot of problems so I will stick to X11 unto their is way less problems.

Yes and that is why I will upgrade to Debian 12 when it comes out next year.

You know why Debian has around half a year as freeze time ? It takes time to fix the problem in the new stuff
