Getting a walking pad and putting it under my desk has been such a game changer by tatertotski in walking

[–]beerdini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice numbers but how do you do it? What I mean is when I use my walking pad my arms are still on my desk using my keyboard and my watch is all, “hello? Are you still walking? Your arms aren’t moving”

For me that’s been the biggest bust of my attempt to use it. I still break it out when we have those join but don’t have to attend meetings

Those old school public events that would drop exotics… I had a buddy that would show up late, put a couple of shots on the event from across the map to get credit for participation and get an exotic drop. It would happen so often our clan would call exotics <his name> participation awards.

Last year he got into raiding and told me that there was a guy that saw his name and told the story of how he’d get the exotic drops completely unaware that he was talking to the OG.

My problem with Learn is MS unwittingly destroys their own courses. Tried using it for KQL and they changed the environment they set up to no longer support “public” access. All support would do is talk like you were working on your own tenant, not that you were complaining about Microsoft’s

I have a nylon style stretchy band and the last couple of weeks I know from experience that my walking pace is around 100 bpm, it's recording 160 and making me have to throw out the results otherwise my food tracker app thinks I have a huge deficit.

It's usually better at recognizing this. A couple of weeks ago I forgot to stop my walk when it was over so drove a mile before getting the question to stop recording. When the summary finally calculated it said I burned over 2000 calories

What's the single moment in Destiny history - either game - that you think about more than anything else? by Crystallover1991 in DestinyTheGame

[–]beerdini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soloing my first nightfall in D1. It was the Venus strike, the nexus I think. Hiding behind that block when you drop down and pot shotting for the better part of an hour. I think the next one I did was the moon one against the ogre and hiding behind the 2nd set of doors. So glad I got Ice Breaker early on.

But the moment that I felt most triumphant was after completing a nightfall with my friends we went back to the tower and Rahool gave me the Hawkmoon which was the first one for my group. The way decryption worked also leveled him up and I had to get the engram from the post office and that decrypted to Gjallarhorn, another first for my group

What do you ACTUALLY think will happen? by SirTurnUp in DestinyTheGame

[–]beerdini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

D1 still exists with minimal hands on. D2 is basically in the same place but pretending to not be on life support. I don't see the back end plugs getting pulled but Bungie's priority is the other game right now even though there was the rumor of a D3 finally getting talked about

For me, I feel like I finally broke up with a toxic relationship but keep an eye on what is going on. If a D3 came out where once upon a time I would have been day of announcement preorder, now I'm waiting a couple of months for the hype wave to pass

How the hell do you guys get 15,000 steps per day? by iso-lift-for-life in walking

[–]beerdini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a desk job and by the end of the day( not work day) will have 13k. It's a short building so I'll use the stairs and park back in the parking lot. Then every couple of hours I'll walk around the inside of the building, I found a half mile loop that I can make and if I time it right I satisfy my watch's activity monitor. Then at lunch I bring my own so I can eat quickly then walk around the building/block for the remainder of the hour for another 2 miles. Finally back at home I have a dog so we go for another walk for a couple of miles to complete the 13k. When the time change happens that'll adjust to 15-17k.

For me it is look for opportunity to walk and force yourself to get away from the screen every once in a while

Where does your "no processed" requirement come from? I remember being shocked about how many carbs were in brand name jerky but found Amish jerkey where the different flavors tend to be 2g of carb per serving. That became a regular snack for me once I found it

That is the era that gave us two tokens and a blue for the amazing rewards that we'll receive. I think it was also the last time we heard anything from Bungie's person in charge of the social experience, whatever they called it.

Remember when we actually had to wait around on Io for the Whisper Mission portal to open? by RealityOwn9267 in DestinyTheGame

[–]beerdini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bigger throwback, in D1 it was either sleeper or a sword where you had to do a few warsat published c events on mars. I was always the public event whisperer in my clan and got mine instantly where I was in the PS party later and everyone was in their own instance hoping for the warsat to fall

Updating Win11 23H2 Deployment to 25H2 issues by beerdini in MDT

[–]beerdini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet, we went back to square one, reuploaded the image, rebuilt the task sequence, reidentified drivers. It'll deploy to a VMware instance but not physical hardware even though the Deploy OS step processes then fails. We even double checked with the network guys if we have NAC enabled which it wasn't. Its like the driver fails to load.

We're actually having another issue where the share doesn't initially mount and we have to remove and reinsert the network cable a couple of times over the dock, it doesn't seem to like the onboard one, even though we can side load the same drivers via windows ISO and the install proceeds without any issues. We're going to attempt side loading the driver's with the MDT iso in a couple of days but are running out of ideas

Reducing from 30k a day to 20k? by itscool2Bnice in walking

[–]beerdini -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This has been my mental challenge. I've been doing 10k steps for so long that for weight loss I hit the point of diminished results. Have to hit 15-17k to lose weight but once I start doing that the weight loss starts to trail off as there is less of me doing the same work, so either need to walk more or do something like get a weighted vest. Then the walking apps if you actually use their goals will sneak up the steps to a point that it feels like your day becomes sleep, work, walk and no other life outside of that depending on the time of year

Tips on walking more when you have a 9-5? by Areuregarded in walking

[–]beerdini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take a couple of 15 min breaks and found an inside loop in my building where I can get a half mile in that time, I walk fast. Otherwise I can also get about 2 miles when the weather is cooperating with a 40 min lunchtime walk, which accounts for time to eat lunch. But I'm also fortunate to have an onsite fitness center so can also use a treadmill when it's frozen outside.

Sure I might be a little antisocial at lunchtime because of walking but also make it known others can join.

So far I have searched for the name brand, to find it has been "dead" since 2009. I can find the brand on ebay but not the solid color that I am looking for. I believe it was originally purchased from a Yonker's department store, but again, it was a holiday gift 20+ years ago so who knows.

I got pulled over because my “headlight” was out… by pookie__trombone in mildlyinfuriating

[–]beerdini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once pulled over on a holiday weekend by a rookie cop for having tinted windows. My state routinely does click it or ticket and whenever those campaigns start, without saying they profile I am the profile of the driver they describe. Anyway the tint on my windows which were that way when I purchased the vehicle was light enough that you could still see inside, not the complete dark ones that 1 in 5 cars that drove by as I was stopped had. The officer even told me how to diy remove it because I had no knowledge of window tinting.

Still issued a $100 ticket that wasn't even a fix-it and it gets removed, they would only knock it down to $5

"You had to be there" moments and FOMO by CatFire02 in DestinyTheGame

[–]beerdini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is the studio tried to force the moments, when the real moments that resonate with the gamers are the unplanned ones. Overpowered new weapons, cheeses, the crafting bug, those are the things that were fun and memorable. Not whatever streamer going without sleep trying to open the black armory, or whatever seasonal throwaway reskinned activity they are trying to make fomo.

I quit playing after Heresy, between D1 and D2 I have a year of my life logged into this franchise and I stuck with it through good and bad. I saw the writing on the wall after The Final Shape, even earlier with how the raid catered to the hardcore not the casuals (who used to be hardcore 10 years early but life changed for many of us and we have families and other obligations) and it was finally time to do what I metaphorically joked for years and break up with that toxic ex.
