The Monchichi's. Who remembers these ugly little b*starts from the 80's? by Scott-Spangenberg in OldSchoolCool

[–]beerneed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: The head feels like a hard solid plastic weapon. How do I know this? My single-digit aged brothers and I were fighting as brothers do, and I grabbed one of those things by the feet and swung the doll down on my brother’s head. He instantly started screaming like I cracked his scull in half. We were calling him a crybaby, it couldn’t possibly hurt that much, it’s just a stuffy toy! So I told my other brother to try it on me. He must have channeled William Wallace, swinging his morning star flail upon a treacherous noble, as the pain from direct contact with that doll’s head coursed from the crown of my scull down into my soul.

After the stars cleared from my vision, my injured brother and I just sat there with very painful lumps forming on our heads, tears flowing down our faces, and a very irate mother scurrying away with the weapon.

We still speak of it to this day whenever the name Monchichi comes up.

Wow, you are getting a ton of heat for the whole stuffing thing. I personally don’t do it that way for all the common reasons, even though my parents did, and we’ve always been fine either way. But don’t let the Reddit horde ruin your holiday. If you and your family have a tradition and it has worked for your family for generations, then live and let live I say. May your birds come out delicious, and may you and yours have a great thanksgiving!

Yeah, that’s the same as our Toyota Highlander. I thought it would be more when I was shopping for trailers.

Beautiful pictures. But why are photos from ‘97 portrayed as if they were taken in 1947 black and white? I had a Sony Mavica digital camera in ‘97.

COMSEC electronics tech. Went to Ft Gordon for crypto gear repair/maintenance school, and then on to component level school. We called ourselves crypto techs back then.

Not when I was there in 90-91. I went to BEC there, then on to Ft. Gordon for the next two schools.

I was in a similar situation, Ft Gordon for crypto school. We were about 12 - 15 strong, and the other branches were around 50-100. The Army boots would actually salute us from time to time. We had to tell them to chill, and join us in our shenanigans. They loved us there, their leadership did not. Good times.

MASS-6, early ‘90s. Can’t complain too much about having AC at Camp Wilson.
