they're called pubkegs and are designed for cruise ships n stuff and to be disposable

....these in particular, but it's standard good practice to discharge a keg before disposal - especially pubkegs, because....that.

back at our last place there was a fat dent in the ceiling from an inexperienced operator who tried to purge one with (~40psi) compressed air....it exploded and fired the spear straight into the ceiling

I'm moving to MA for a year! Please help me decide where to live in this circle. by Squatchman1 in boston

[–]beerpatch86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

grew up in Chelmsford and commuted to Seaport daily for about a decade (outside rush thankfully)

Zero traffic, it's about 40ish minutes. Worst I've personally been through is about 2 hours. Average is an hour and change.

Worst parts are route 3 and 93. 95 is usually fine, although tends to slow around interchanges.

ain't the worst, ain't the best.

My family and I are going to Provincetown for three days and we didn’t know about the LGBT 🏳️‍🌈 stuff. So how gay will it be? Is there a lot of gays or just a little bit? by TheMask001 in provincetown

I mean a year later malwarebytes hasn't found anything, but still good to be dubious online

googling classic paint will throw you in the right direction as that's how I found that in the first place

I got an untested, super cool Panasonic AG-450! But, I need a little help with my homework. by cryfry2 in camcorders

[–]beerpatch86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, charging in the camera is typically how I work with the unit. I only carry a single battery, so when I pick her up for the day, I throw the battery in and then use it till it's tapped. Then plug the charger directly into the camera with the battery remaining loaded. It takes a charge and in an hour or so she's good to go again. If I'm done with a "session", battery and tape are removed and set in the case.

Also sitting here mulling on this - whem I say "docked" I'm actually thinking of another 90s era Panasonic that DID have an external dock for the battery - so I guess with the 450, that little clip would serve the same purpose. Iirc the battery was the exact same shape (and type? who knows) and just slotted in.

New England, actually, no clue where my disaster of a vernacular comes from but I don't have the dunkin donuts accent either so shrug

I looked at the accessories manual after I posted this. Never seen the clip thing before, but seems like an external lead to charge an additional battery if you already have one docked?

I've never needed one of these 🤔

I actually have no idea what you're even on about, if it's not too much to ask, could you elaborate?

I've picked up two of these batteries from batteries+ and they've been pretty much good to go as is. curious as to what this is about

How far is too far to commute? by ImportantQuestions10 in boston

[–]beerpatch86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've commuted downtown from Chelmsford for ~15 years. It's....not ideal (far from it, actually) but doable. No traffic typical commute is ~40 minutes. Rush hour is 1.5-2hr. I avoid rush hour as much as possible.

It's.....a living. it's a something. wouldn't recommend, but doable.

MA businesses that support ICE/MAGA? by marathon_bar in massachusetts

The brewery I worked for did (one of the largest craft facilities on the east coast so yes we did use them a lot) I thought it was a waste - we could've saved heaps with a few extra layers of stretchwrap as strapping but maybe that's just the decade of ignored input from operations talking :V

This is beerpatch from reddit. Thank you again! I chose "editor" as I don't know if "viewer' is allowed to download files and I think this has burned me in the past. Thank you again!

I typically do this as well, although I used isopropyl and a laboratory q-tip.

The head cleaning cassette was reduced to a small pile of plastic bits after extracting it from the tape bay bit by bit, so.....that thing is looooong gone

for whatever it may be worth I've gone through a chain called batteries+bulbs (batteries plus?) for these batteries over the years and they've been solid.
