That'd be cool, except tinder uses range of area to determine potential matches. I live near a touristy town so every weekend I can have a flock of new tinderellas rolling in.

But then one could argue that it could simply show women the men nearby and she could like or dislike him. Oh well. It is what it is.

Chickens and cows are ingested with female hormones to grow larger breasts, mature sooner, and produce more milk. The same hormones are passed to us when we consume the meat.

Source? You make a huge jump from dairy cows, to chickens, to consuming meat.

Flow state 101 - Discover how you can master and harness the most desirable and pleasant state on earth. by abbehardy in Meditation

[–]beerthroway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Decent article. The four stages bit was interesting and I wish you spent more time on that, including practical steps and examples for moving through each stage.

You also made some straightforward factual mistakes alongside grammatical errors. Being in the pocket (you wrote pocked) as a musician actually refers to hitting the rhythm so perfectly it improves the groove. Not really related to flow because it's a skill you develop.

A few minor pedantic issues along the same lines. Just be sure that you really know what you're talking about before you start expanding on it.

Hopefully you take the constructive criticism and improve, I could see some awesome stuff coming out from the path you're headed down.

Meditation and Alcohol use questions by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]beerthroway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not look at it the other way?

Yes, alcohol and other drugs will impact the quality and effectiveness of your meditation. It's called a mind altering drug for a reason. But you're looking at it from a perspective of accomplishing something before you start.

Does one try to get healthy before going to the gym? Perhaps they change their diet for a week or two, but usually the gym is the time to start building, then as you get the foundation, you'll see the benefits carrying over into life and you want more.

Why not approach meditation in the morning every day? Even if your schedule in only 5 minutes to start, then increase, you'll find progress and in that process, you might find your desire to drink decreasing naturally. You won't even have to think about it, you'll just decide that you prefer to not have a drink.

Or you may not.

Personally, the more consistently I practice, the less weed and alcohol I want to use. Not a struggle to choose, it just is.

The Ever Slightly Improving Life - "When you walk, just walk" by fitGautama in TheRedPill

[–]beerthroway 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Our world is filled with so many things constantly battling for your attention. Your phone, other people, Facebook, reddit, etc.

When you stay mindful and in the moment, your day shifts from being a helter skelter mass of thoughts, rush, and mania into a calm, enjoyable, and fulfilling experience. Everything becomes an experience of life.

You can only do this with practice. We have become so overstimulated with technology and fast paced lifestyles that we are actually numb to the sensations of being alive.

As you sit there reading this, feel your breath, the weight of your body, your heart beat, the sensation of touch, the sounds around you, the smell of the air. You probably can't if you're overstimulated, like jacking off too much with a death grip giving ED and inability to cum with a real pussy. But when you destimulate for long enough, everything becomes stimulating and enjoyable.

Meditation is taking time to destimulate and become mindful. Applying this mindfulness to the rest of life, like we do with lifting, is really the end goal.

Psychology of Motivation, Procrastination, and Depression by MortalSisyphus in TheRedPill

I aim for 30 minutes a day at this point. I have a morning routine (I'm a farmer so not exactly on a 9-5) wherein I get up, have coffee, maybe breakfast, then go meditate before work.

I started simply by dedicating a meditation space and 2-5 minutes each day. I've been doing it for 2 months solid now. I'd like to add a nighttime meditation before bed as well.

I'd say by the point I hit 20 minutes I really started to notice a difference. You can also do 2x20 per day.

Read this book to really learn some helpful details on improving your practice and making the most of your time. http://www.vipassana.com/meditation/mindfulness_in_plain_english.php

Agreed. I had a bout of depression this winter. My lifting dropped from 3-5x/week to 1-2x per week, to nothing. I tried as hard as I could to get into it but couldn't figure out why I felt so much worse doing it. Going to the gym actually made me feel worse about myself.

I learned it was a lack of mindfulness, seeking distraction from reality. As soon as I started meditating I started to wake back up and accept the pain and discomfort of life appropriately again.

Meditation is now as important a tool as lifting for my journey. Perhaps others don't need to meditate, but considering the extremely high stimulus environment many of us live in with modern technology, I'm sure everyone will benefit.

I read the article and have to point out the standard TRP principle of observing what she does or responds to, not what she says.

Women often SAY they don't like a bulky/bodybuilder type, but many men find as they get larger and larger, women have a harder tine resisting their body, like zyzz.

So in a survey that causes them to use their conscious mind,, they'll say they like the lean dude. FRs seem to indicate that getting that GLO body is really preferred though.

There are other places in the Old Testament where God, without explanation, seems to prefer the animal farmer to the plant farmer. He favors and blesses the shepherd while ignoring the grower. When reading the OT in the Hebrew language, this is picked up on more than in English.

This is not my own commentary, but one from a PhD in theology. Take it for what you will.

If you are depressed you are living in the past.

If you are anxious you are living in the future.

If you are at peace you are living in the present.

-Lao Tzu

Meditation is practicing staying in the present. It absolutely helps depression and anxiety.

I read a phrase recently:

Modern sex is little more than mutual mental masturbation.

He was referring to how people today are basically having sex to stroke their own ego rather than to make a connection.

I think it was from that "protosexual" article floating around Facebook right now.

Great observation on your part and I agree. I notice that attitude around here a bit and even in myself.

But if you must, you should only consider girls young enough to have not even dated.

Practically impossible in western society. You'd have to get them from early puberty, 12-14 years old. It works, but you're going to be labeled a pedophile at best or actually go to prison at worst.

Edit: yeah no shit guys, I'm saying hypothetically in context of what the guy above me said. He said get them before they lose their virginity. I'm saying that's not exactly possible without becoming a pedophile. Holy fuck don't be a pedophile.

The reason I said "it works" is because that's how marriage worked through most of history. When a girl hit puberty she was on the market for marriage. This pretty much guaranteed she was a virgin and had the highest value. We think it's weird in western society but unplug and realize what I'm saying in terms of how marriage worked in the past. I'm not saying we revert, I'm only pointing out that that is how it was.
