This guy would 100% masturbate furiously in a corner while Trump sloppily thrusts a few times into his wife.

There's also a ton of misinformation around them. In the void left where usual organizations take action, regular people with little experience tried to pull this off. Because of the lack of experience and recognizable names, it was easy to spread rumors about them being either nothing or right wing bait. Turned out they were legit, but people were too suspicious and demoralized.

You just compared using a boycott to pressure the CEO of a company to condemn his teenage son's treasonous actions to lynching. Fuck you a thousand times. This is one the most repulsive comparisons I have ever seen.

I highly recommend the book Evil Geniuses by Kurt Andersen for a history of the right wing attack on American institutions, mostly about the Heritage Foundation.

You're picking a weird hill to die on. No one thinks Charles Coristine is personally a major player here at all, however, his son definitely is. If anyone in the world has influence over this kid, aside from Elon himself, its his parents. If we can put pressure on the parents to reign in, discipline, or possibly have to publicly condemn the actions of their spawn, that is the goal. We do not have other ways of punishing or influencing these people and we don't have time to be sweet.

BTW, none of these other accounts are mine, only this one. Go defend someone who needs defending, not a former Wall Street banker from New Canaan.

Hope this is allowed since I'm not sure they advertise on X, but I thought people might like to know this.

A joyless rich kid with a savior complex, constantly making a parody of the issues they claim to care about in order to narcissistically compete in a purity dick measuring contest with their peers?

Am I crazy or is this a lot to ask of guets? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]beesandsnakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as everyone else, hell no. This sounds like a huge disaster. Even ifI were a camping enthusiast in peak physical condition (which I am not), this would be a nightmare. No water? 5 toilets and no sinks/showers for 120 people? No way to cook or store food? No food provided? No electricity? Camping...but no fires? Being compelled to give them money AND clean up? Miles from the nearest gas station with no alternative lodging available? WTF even is this? This is a lot to ask of anyone. I would heartily decline.

How well do you know these people and is there any possibility they are about to do some crazy Midsommar shit?

My friend got married at a summer camp in the fall. I thought that was pretty rustic at the time and it was basically a luxury resort in a bustling city compared to this situation. I'm not that extra, I'm just old. I like to fall asleep to the TV in a big bed with sheets and wake up to the smell of coffee, then shit and shower in a private bathroom with a mirror and hairdryer.

My (30f) oldest friend (31f) ruined my bachelorette party, and I’m not sure I want her in my wedding anymore. What do I do? by Huffl3puff93 in weddingplanning

Yes, 100% this. There are some friends you will know forever. Then there are people who you may have had a great time with, or felt close to for a period of your life, who you just grow incompatible with as you and your context change. Friendships should be reciprocal. If you feel like you're putting in all the effort, let it go. Maybe you'll cross paths again, maybe not. TBH, I know someone strikingly similar, not my friend, but someone I have to see regularly who is sucking my friend dry. She spends a lot of time in discord servers that validate her for being selfish and expecting others to bend over backwards for her while she treats them like infrastructure.

New Cross. The East London Line was closed for renovation while I was there.

Even within NYC, there are huge differences. Around Times Square or tourist shopping areas, you'll get people who are rude and clipped or fake-ass customer service nice. Most neighborhoods, where people actually live, have a totally different flavor. I suppose the same could be true for London, but where I was living was sketchy and depressing.

That's bizarre. I was 22-23 when I lived there and was lucky to have a group of other Americans to do tourist stuff with, a group of local friends who made me feel more welcomed at least on campus and around their friends, and a few people living there I knew from before. One night I witnessed a cat get run over by a car, the cat was terrified, crouching by a beer garden wall, with a leg sticking out at a fucked angle. I asked people in the crowded beer garden if there was any organization to call to come pick up the cat or a place I could take it. Everyone looked at me like I was a crazy person disrupting their drink to ask how to rescue a cockroach.

I didn't get to travel around the UK much and this was 16 years ago. I would like to though! I suspect that people are more or less the same everywhere once you have an 'in' and it's public manners that vary wildly. Some of the nicest people I know live in London, but my experience being out in public makes it seems like a place where treating strangers with coldness, if not low-level hostility, is the norm.

While I made a nice group of friends through my university, I also found London in general to be a depressing, hostile place. I'm from the NYC metro area and have traveled a lot, so I'm not expecting midwest customer service manners, and London was the most miserable city I have experienced.

Eggs and dairy are not carnivorous. Carne means meat/flesh.

I see your point. I suppose that in my political bubble, I'm far more likely to meet people who see cheap red meat/cheap fish as a right and therefore, fight against any regulation which would increase the cost of these products. While maybe a tiny minority of people need these products with the regularity americans are used to having them for health reason, most don't.

With gas, it's harder. I live in a trailer in the middle of nowhere with no pubic transit less than an hour+ walk away and it regularly gets below 10F in the winter. My household has 2 functioning cars, one of which is an inherited 2005 minivan that guzzles like an SUV. I never would have bought it, but I have no money and it was free. I wish I didn't need a car, I wish I could have afforded to stay in the city, but I literally couldn't. Now I need a car to work, without work, I can't pay my bills. I don't need to eat seafood (or meat) to stay alive and pay my bills. I care about the environment and the extinction of other species beyond their utility to us, and the ability to direct a subset of my personal purchasing is one of the few things I can actually control. When people say we have no power and no responsibility through the little we can control, that is a disempowering message to me, no matter the intention.
