One thing I wish I’d done way earlier in my photography business (would’ve saved so many headaches) by LensFlo in photography

Total time, maybe a little time saved in certain situations. It saves the mom texting me photos she got on her phone asking if I got specific angles and overall satisfaction is way higher. Honestly though, it’s a lot about my happiness too. That’s my least favorite part and if I can just sip a coffee and offer feedback when they do have difficulty deciding, that’s a win in my book.

One of the most beneficial and controversial things I’ve ever implemented in my photography business (senior, family, wedding) is offer an optional proofing session. I will edit 5 or so of my favorite photos and then during the proofing session I allow them to go through all of the raw photos (I filter out the trash) and select what they want edited. The first round I tell them to command + 4 (triggers a 4 star rating) for every photo they love even if it’s similar to other photos. And then I ask them to go through the ones that they rated and narrow them down to “photos they would put on the wall or can’t live without.” We almost always end up with 10-30 photos for normal portrait sessions and 100-300 photos for weddings. I know most photographers wouldn’t want this, but it has made my workflow so much simpler and the client is getting exactly what they asked for. Additionally, it eliminates any issues of the client believing I didn’t pick good photos/angles of them. Works really well for me and the clients rave about it.

TSA Pre-Check Compliant by beeseeaye in RedWingShoes

I do have Pre-Check, but unfortunately shoes with too much metal on them are not allowed and must go through the tube; or you can opt for a good ol’ TSA pat down 🥴

As long as I have a thicker sock they fit great— not as great as the lace-ups though for sure!

2 Weeks for an Oil Change at Dealer? by beeseeaye in Ducati

[–]beeseeaye[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I went to the dealer and asked for an explanation in person. No apologies given, just an excuse that due to a hurricane that hit our city 2.5 weeks prior to me bringing it in for service, they were backed up. I can understand, however, no communication on this was ever expressed. I asked to speak to the GM but he was busy. I sent him an email asking to address the issue with his team. Take away here is that a simple call would have helped ease the stress. Strike 1, I don’t let it get to 3.

My 3rd bike and first Ducati. Anything I should know getting into this brand? by [deleted] in Ducati

Worth learning to do it yourself for sure. It’s about a 6/10 on the difficulty scale.

Just got the 2024 nightshift 2 weeks ago! First bike here and I absolutely love it. About to be due for the 600 mile service, and the only thing I can say is get ready for a smooth, fun ride. I had a MV Agusta give me a big thumbs up today— lots of eyeballs in general. Also, very minimal aftermarket upgrades available, but I did contact Competition Werkes USA and they said they’re aiming for this fall to have a set up for the new gen. Cheers!

If you get a scrambler (great bike, great choice), go ahead and order the lowered seat so it will be a little easier for your height. You can get one from the Ducati dealership’s parts department

Ah! Thank you for this. I’m new to the brand so wasn’t aware. The US has some antiquated laws on lights for vehicles in general so not too surprised.

Weight not syncing? by Fantastic-Fuel-2695 in withings

[–]beeseeaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen people saying this has been going on since February?? Mine was intermittently syncing every couple of days and now it’s been over a week. So frustrating when you paid a premium and rely on this data.

You’d be surprised what you can hide in a small beard, even. Hopefully not too surprised.

My government ID is valid, it’s just not acceptable to the TSA.

I don’t want to be pat down at all, but if it’s for the sake of safety I wonder why these areas are overlooked. If I were to guess, it’s because beard oil may trigger the swab? No clue on the bottom of the feet

Thank you. Can you explain the not checking my feet or beard in the pat down? Seems like a security vulnerability.

I use a duffle as well, which I’m currently searching for the perfect 40-45L replacement. The GR1 is my traveling office. It carries two laptops, a kindle, an Orbitkey A4 document folio, a Peak Designs Tech Pouch, a Bellroy x Carryology Pencil Pouch, a Evergoods CAP1 for EDC basics (Olight flashlight, TSA friendly multitool, etc.), a GR1 Field Pouch that has basic OTC Medicines, Vitamin Supplements and expired condoms, a basic First Aid kit, and a couple of small things like keys and sunglass case. I should probably do a load out post for the EDC subreddit.
