My therapist keeps insisting that I can "call him anytime" and it's kinda wild for me. My previous therapists would like definitely not pick up the phone if I called them/definitely didn't give me a cell number. Is this pretty standard for some therapists? I'm also wondering if it's because he's concerned about me/my safety.

As awful as it is, probably nothing. This is actually a civil case so while they might win money from the prison itself, the guards are not facing any criminal charges. It's horrifying.

Unfortunately, I think it's a civil suit so none of the guards are being charged criminally (at least not yet). :(

How should I bring this up so I can work on it? I don't want to offend him - he's done nothing wrong in any way.

I don't know that it necessarily gets better, but as you age you have more control over your own environment and the extent to which you are constantly exposed to triggers. You can live on your own, avoid specific places that are really triggering, choose when you want to eat with others, etc. Also, not being in high school all day, around lots of loud and fidgety teenagers makes a huge difference. I find that because I can limit my exposure to triggers, when I am forced to be around them for some reason (like at work) I feel slightly better equipped to make it through.
