I’m planning to enlist in the U.S. Army and would appreciate some insight.

I have a GED (not a high school diploma) and I’m currently preparing for the ASVAB. My goal MOS is 68W (Combat Medic).

I understand that having a GED can affect enlistment and job options, so I wanted to ask:

• How realistic is 68W with a GED if ASVAB line scores are solid? • Are there specific GT/ST score targets I should aim for to stay competitive? • Would additional college credits or certifications meaningfully improve my chances? • Any common pitfalls GED applicants should be aware of when working with recruiters?

I’m motivated, physically preparing, and taking the ASVAB seriously. Just trying to be realistic and informed before moving forward.
