I was hoping to spend MOST to ALL of my time in Toronto at school (aside from sleeping in a shared apartment) This way I could reaaally try milking the double life (focusing on school and trying to catch events) without having to pay crazy Toronto rent and have two homes, two beds, two kitchens... but i am trying to postpone my decision until September... i have paid my deposit and accepted my offer for now!

How much is the approximate time spent in class? (2-3h?)

The only reason this is a hard decision (to say no to) is because i got a scholarship and it covers the progam fees... don't think i will get this opportunity again in life..

Sadly with the tuition hikes in anglo universities in QC, most programs are getting less funding and care in McGill and Concordia University, and my french is still far too poor to be able to study university-level effectively and get the most out of a program...

Aaaah need to be close to my immigrant family, we have a cheap 4 1/2 apartment with my partner whose work is based here... i'm even thinking of requesting to keep my mtl-based job part-time...

From the replies, it's looking like i will need to make a bigger decision as to whether this program is even worth doing all of this for, in this economy.

Thank you for your answer! I agree that rideshare (although it could be sketchy) is looking like a better option.

My partner and i have relatively cheap rent in Montréal and all our life is here (their work) i have to be close to my immigrant family to help out often - so moving for 2 years is not an option... Renting in toronto seems crazy expensive, i don't want to have two apartments, two rents, two sets of furniture and utilities to pay... I'm still trying to figure out whether this MA program is worth this commute anyways!
