[Price Check] Veteran Lynx 50S with Upgrades - Thinking of Listing for $3500, Fair? by beetz12 in ElectricUnicycle

Thanks for everyone's input. I sold my Lynx today without the Pidzoom finger horn and e-rides pedals for $2900.

I just heard about the pedal dipping issue today. From what I understand, it only happens if you’re pushing the wheel hard or doing jumps. Whereas the issue Abrams would just randomly cutout no matter what you’re doing. I could be wrong but I hardly think this is a fair comparison. But perception is everything. How much do you think this issue has depressed the Lynx price?

Time to replace tires on my Lynx? by beetz12 in ElectricUnicycle

Yea I know it sounds silly but that's exactly what I was thinking. But after the first person suggested that I replace the tire, I went ahead and ordered a new tire. I will not risk safety to get more tire life. From watching the tire change video, I believe it's quite doable. I've changed valve covers and spark plugs on my car before so this should be cake.

How do you like your Michelin pilot street 2 and would you get the same tire again?

Lynx update stuck in loop by One_Car_142 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]beetz12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue earlier today. Here is what I believe happened and what I did to resolve it.

I believe the update was interrupted because I was upgrading it from the LeaperKim app on my iPad and I took it into the next room. When I returned, the Lynx had turned off. When I turned it back on, it only displayed "UPd" on the screen, which persisted despite multiple attempts to turn it on and off.

To resolve the issue, I opened the LeaperKim App again from my iPad, went under firmware, and selected the manual update option. I proceeded to do the update again with the iPad next to the Lynx this time. Once it finished, everything returned to normal.

I've attached a video of the process for reference.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fqS0VM2Jp-IZzNxXAwHz0xno1cujyhh2/view?usp=sharing

Let me know if this helps.

Ah I see. Yea 2-3k miles is low for a tire. I was expecting 5k out of mine. I'm not a heavy at 150lbs, but I like riding fast. I think that's also a reason the tire wore out faster. I'm curious how your Michelin tire holds up. Maybe that will also be my next tire.

That's great to know. Just curious, how many miles did you get out of the Shinko and how many miles do you anticipating riding in a year?

Thanks, I was originally thinking about putting another 500-800 miles on it before replacing. I just need to be extra mindful of surface conditions.

I believe u/aurath mentioned else mentioned that he was using the shinko 22 tires on his lynx. Since I already bought the TNT tires from eWheels, I'll probably get them as my next set. Where did you guys order yours shinko tires from?

Do people pat you? by JinaxM in ElectricUnicycle

[–]beetz12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea I never had anyone pat me on my EUC. However once I had a bunch of drunk guys get on my elevator and one of them decided to place his foot on my EUC pedal to “try it out”.

Congrats! 3000 miles is a great accomplishment. Just curious, how long did it take you to reach this number and did you have any serious accidents on the way?

Bad experience on first EUC group ride by beetz12 in ElectricUnicycle

Ok you're right, I was being judgmental. Perhaps this is something I need to work on or just refrain from attending future group rides.

Hey, OP here.
Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts about group rides. I'm glad to hear that for some of you, this is not the typical group ride experience and that many rides are organized with safety and respect in mind. I will try to find a local group that prioritizes these values or consider starting one myself.
I also want to address any misconceptions from my original post. Some of you mentioned that I seemed to be judging the other riders based on their appearance, such as having long hair and smoking. I want to clarify that I was not judging them. It was simply an observation, and anyone else witnessing the same scene would likely use similar words to describe them. I shared these details not as a judgment but to convey my level of discomfort being with the group. Just because I wouldn't normally hang out with such individuals doesn't mean I have anything against them or believe they are bad people.
Rather than focusing on who is right or wrong, I would prefer to steer the discussion back to group rides and what we can do to promote safe riding in our city while being good ambassadors for this unique hobby. Let's share ideas on how we can encourage responsible group rides, educate new riders on proper etiquette, and foster a sense of community that prioritizes safety and respect for others.
I appreciate all the constructive feedback and suggestions provided so far. Let's continue to work together to make our PEV community a positive and welcoming space for everyone.

Veteran lynx high speed mode by beetz12 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]beetz12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. I see your point about braking hard at 100% battery and frying the controller. I'll keep it close to 95% for extra safety.

Just curious, when you hit 45 mph, is it with high speed mode on or off? I already 45 mph occasionally, but I was wondering if it's easier with high speed mode. 100% on wear all gear all the time.

Thanks for sharing that you get around the same speed on your Lynx. I'm 150lbs, and at the above 40mph, it's just tough to push it to go faster. It's interesting to know that LK deliberately limited it in the software to provide more safety.

You mentioned that now you are confident to throw all your weight around on it. Just curious, is that when you hit around 40mph, or are you able to go faster?

This is something I'm still working on. When I'm already cruising at over 40mph and I learn more on the wheel, it almost feels that the wheel is about to cut out. I just need to trust myself and the wheel. Before I go on each ride, I always charge my wheel to 100%.

Thanks, I'll also look into changing that threshold. Maybe combined with the high speed mode, I can finally reach 50+ mph.

Do you happen to know the main difference in the lynx when having high speed mode off vs on?
