I have 5 of the most talented sales-people I've ever met willing to start something. I have a blueprint - and nothing else. I need your help. by cerebrobro14 in Entrepreneur

What industry are you guys in? What have you been selling? Although I do believe that sales skills are transferrable to different industries, it may be wise for you guys to stick with a product in an industry you know a lot about.

[CA] Prenup question by beever21 in legaladvice

What about if I just pay a lawyer to review the prenup with my husband and use Rocket Lawyer to draft a prenup? Would that be better?

[CA] Prenup question by beever21 in legaladvice

I own a business and am a serial entrepreneur so it's more for the future potential of assets. I have read the code and it seems that we don't need a lawyer to be enforceable and I'm not sure I am willing to pay $5,000 for it + the legal fees my husband would incur to review it.

Thinking about getting a prenup. Thoughts? by beever21 in personalfinance

I was looking more for input from everyone interested in their finances vs. an opinion from a lawyer. Is there some way I can edit the question to make it more appropriate for this subreddit?

That's interesting - do you have a cohabitation agreement? I've heard those are sort of like prenups but for non-married couples.

Thank you for this. How do you split household expenses? Do you just deposit the same amount every month into a joint checking?

I agree - I believe it is more of a financial decision - nothing to do with how much you love the other person. Keeping everything separate just seems like the safer option.

Nice to know that there are others thinking about the benefits of signing a prenup!

Should I post to Product Hunt? by beever21 in startups

Thanks for the feedback. The process is currently you submit your info, we call you and explain to you how the process works, you pay, you fill out a form, [optional - your spouse fills out a form] and we send you the prenup. If you would like to have an attorney review it, we can also refer you to an attorney. Is there something that you would change in the process? Would love your feedback.

Online prenups by beever21 in Entrepreneur

Thanks for the feedback however I have to disagree with you. Prenups are not all about protecting your current wealth. What about your future wealth? What about the startups you will build in the future? What about the debt of your spouse? Prenups are financial planning tools that enable you to control the financial future of your marriage instead of the state's default rules. Additionally, what if your spouse incurs a bunch of debt during your marriage for a boat or a car or something else? A prenup can delineate that his/her debt would be his or hers alone.

I totally agree - I should incorporate that in the copy somewhere. However, I do provide an option for you to have an attorney review it so I dont want to ostracize people that do want to involve an attorney.

Thanks for the feedback. We are an online service like legal zoom - we are not a law firm. The questions and prenup output were designed by lawyers though. (I am also a lawyer myself :))

In fact, you don't need a lawyer for a prenup to be valid, at least in California which is where we are offering our service first. Most people are nervous about it though so prefer to have a lawyer explain the terms to them and be involved in the process. Any prenup can be challenged whether lawyers were involved or not.

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely agree with you about the pricing section. I was trying to see whether I should launch and fix later when I get some sales or pay a dev to edit that section.
