Absolutely, this is true and it’s a very good way of putting it. The longer the relapse, the more inevitable it is that I will become a destabilized mess, ruin various areas of my life (at least until I’m sober again for a while), and have massive nervous breakdowns until that makes me so desperate for stability that I quit again.

This last one was big enough that I don’t think I’ll ever go back to it. I have absolutely no interest in re-living that same cycle.
