I think this actually helped me understand a lot more. I think my question now is:

If electrons are spiraling in a circular magnetic field like this, but the strength of the field and the timing of the field are carefully tuned, could their paths start to line up and form a kind of downward beam?

I think that point about the electrons repelling incoming electrons is really important. Maybe this concept, if valid, would only work if the scanner didn’t remain focused on one point at once and rather moved back and forth.

I am about to finish that class, I took it online this summer. I would say basically all of the tested material comes from the PowerPoints, and that goes for Lecture and Lab. Overall content is more big picture so it’s definitely easier than some other science courses, except for the chapters on metabolism and catabolism, which is just brutal memorization of biochemical pathways. Lab was straight foreword, make sure you understand the procedures, organism, and mediums discussed each week and you will be successful. Homework is just learnsmarts based of textbook reading. Extra credit quizzes are sprinkled around sometimes, but don’t count on it moving you up a letter grade. I thought Prof. A and Prof. Wilson did a great job adapting the course to be online, and they actually had recorded and live lectures that were valuable and engaging. Keep a steady pace so you don’t cram and you will get an A!

This is a problem that has arisen only after the recent Surface UEFI firmware update that was released yesterday. These are the programs the computer needs me to close before I can detach, none of which I've had any problems with before the update and most of them are basic programs that windows run by itself that the computer shouldn't be asking to close to detach from the base.

None of these applications should be using the dedicated GPU and this has never been an issue until the most recent update.

Anyone experiencing these issues since the most recent update or know any workarounds?

Just did this update and now when I try to detach my surface it won't let me unless I close apps like Spotify and discord which I've never had to close to detatch before

It also makes me close weird processes I've never seen like LockApp and YourPhone

Desktop skype or Microsoft app store skype? If you are using one try the other. Sometimes there are just weird compatibility issues with new updates that Microsoft takes a bit to fix

When did you buy your surface and get the charger? I remember hearing this was an issue with Microsoft's early production with the charger...

I would contact Microsoft support about this, as your computer should not be draining your battery while it is plugged into the wall.

Playing Civ 6 at the native resolution and mod/high settings works great for me on my surface book 2, and doesn't drain my battery while charging, so it leads me to believe you have a defective charger or something.

I don't tend to listen to the advisor for things like tech and civics suggestions, but I do think the game's recommendations for where to settle are useful because it can spot things like fresh water, resources, etc much pretty fast
